First Look -Kershaw+ Emerson Collaboration !!! You gotta see these beauties!

8CR45nrtjrjgdr5545jjsg554j steel will probably hold a better edge than 154cm at 57hrc.

I kinda see these budget Kershaw Emersons the same way I see the Thermite: the chance to try what is usually a pretty designer-specific feature in a budget knife. For the Thermite, it was the spanto grind. For Emerson, his trademark is the wave. Granted, Emersons are cheaper than Hinderers and some Spydercos have the feature, but to have a full Emerson design in a budget package is a cool way to try out something otherwise inaccessible. I don't have much disposable income, but if I find myself with a surplus and an occasion to splurge, I might just pick one up for some wavy antics.

I agree. Fun to add a little something different in the rotation and see what I think.

The patent on the wave feature is going to expire before too long. My guess would be that Mr. Emerson A. Wants to get what he can from the patent before it goes and B. Wants to insure that the first wave (pun intended) of inexpensive options are both associated with his name and of decent quality. It won't be too long before the market is flooded with junky Smith and Wesson waved knives.

Insipid... I am a management consultant in nyc and my boss works for s&w's CEO. Do you think their knives are a brand liability? I asked him just now after reading your post to bring this up with the CEO. I used hk benchmades as an example of better licensing and brand preservation.

Adding the CQC-6K to my list :). Could do without the skull on the pocket clip... makes an otherwise cool knife look kinda silly in my opinion.

CQC-6K looks awesome. Anybody got an idea on prices?

The official Kershaw Knives website has all their prices up. Considering the MSRPs are in the $50 to $60 range, I'm willing to bet these bad boys are gonna be in the $30 to $40s. I will pick up as many as the wife lets me :D

when will these be hitting retailers? I'm placing an order for the cqc-1k immediately. looks like a fantastic backup knife.

I really hope they change the position of the pocket clips and/or put deep carry clips on, because the clips in the pics are super shallow. Other than that, I think they look fantastic.

In classic kershaw fashion. All with small blades but one. Kershaw already has bunches of 3.25 inch blades. Very few bigger ones.

Other than that I like a few.....but sure hope they get here faster than the made up etas that never happened and massive delays of the cryo2. That had to set a delay record.

S&W knives are joke among knife people. A lot of those people are also gun people. Most people into knives are smart enough to know that S&W just licenses their name to Chinese no name manufacturers. Most gun people who aren't into knives don't know enough to care that they are junk.

Those people are the types of people who never spend more than $30 on a knife because they are junk, break all the time and get dull fast so why would they ever pay more than $30 not realizing that if they shell out a few more dollars they can get a knife that will last them for a long long time.

Eh. Better than many of the Kershaw lineup, worse than alot of knives out there. Kinda fugly imo.
