I have never looked at them much because of what I consider a low value for the money but they have stayed in the $4 - $500 range and are too much for what you get. So this is a biased post okay?
I know nothing of their past business practices, but from reading this thread, it sounds like this isn't the 1st time they've copied another knife. What puzzles me is that they'd copy the Overall Knife of the Year so closely and so soon. What are these guys thinkig about. I hope this turns out to be some sort of cruel charade since I can't find them on their website. Maybe a hoax?

As far as I know ADO is an old design and made with permission from Chris Reeve - but with Microtech you never can tell for sure I think...
Now we can go back to discussing original ZT design in this thread - Microtech "inspirations" and copies would be a very long thread...

Never thought I would until now, but I'm considering canceling my pre-order on the 0777. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great knife and you won't ever find another knife like it at that price. No other manufacturer has ever made anything like it. However after a bit of long thought, it doesn't seem like something I'd use or carry - it seems a little too nice compared to what I ordinarly EDC, nor would I ever buy it just to flip it for gain. But I'll still be adding ZT's to my collection, just not this one.
Nevertheless, I'm sure Kershaw/ZT will come up with even more revolutionary designs in the near future.

I'm guessing these have been sold out for quite awhile w/ all of the talk of people pre-ordering at multiple places.

Maybe if he would have stopped and made an apology, but after the pic of him at the Taiwan show he seems to have no remorse specially showing the 0777 rip-off as his new flag ship folder.
Only places that took deposits are sold out. Some dealers don't do deposits, they just put your name on a list. When things are out it's first come first served to those on the list.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with that foreign (russian sounding name) guy that posted in this or another 0777 thread about it being his design. If it was some other guy's then anyone might be able to make a similar knife as long as he doesn't care. I could be full of cr*p (usually) but that's a possibility - plus if KAI is going to litigate, it wouldn't be a forum topic (more likely explanation).
