First Look - ZT 0777

How easy are the IKBS knives to take apart and reassemble? I looked at a few pages with balisongs and it looked like it would be a little difficult to put back together. I'm curious since I like to take apart some of my knives to clean from time to time.

Not really an answer to your question, but the 0777, 0560/1, and Tilt use Kershaw's KVT washers instead of IKBS. The bearings are captured in the polymer washer, disassembly and reassembly aren't really any different than with PB washers. No worries about tiny loose bearings all over or having to carefully dab grease in the races to keep the bearings in place.

- That sounds promising!

Now I just have to patiently wait for the ZT0777 to come out. Ugh.

Missed out on the Volt I when it first came out. Not going to let a repeat of that episode happen - definitely getting this one. But it'll definitely be a welcome steel addition in my lineup. So far the only advanced steels I have are S30V and RWL34.

From the facebook page:

Zero Tolerance Knives-KAI USA Ltd.
It has been said that his nose can tell the difference between S30V and 154CM and that his tools are all made out of ZDP-189 and Titanium...

This one is definitely worth cranking up the volume for in the first 45 seconds, and set the video to 1080P!

What parts are titanium? The subframe lock, backspacer and pocket clip? What about the pivot?

Hey I got an idea, let's do a size comparison to another knife thats not released yet. Lol

It's basically the same length as the 0200 / 0300 series. Did you hear him in the Hinderer Flipper video? All of those other ZT's are hard to find, even in the building! :p

Thanks for the video...I think ;) pretty slick looking knife there for sure,
(gotta start filling up that penny jar again ! )

ZT 0777 looks like a winner - nice to see Kershaw pushing again the boundaries of the industry.
I'm convinced that many will be as happy with this knife as I was with Volt.

So I was surprised when I saw this:

Is there some kind of a collaboration with Microtech, license? You're making them for Microtech?

I must say that this is pretty confusing...

Hmmm...I'm interested in hearing more myself.

These photos are from NY knife show and were posted on Microtech forum.

Looks like Mr. Marfione has some explaining to do...

Wow....What's going on? A bit too close for comfort on something I believed to be a ZT design...although I only guessed it to be. Anyways, the ZT looks better!

For those that need a reminder of that the ZT 0777 looks like:

Woahh, what's going on here? That looks like a blatant copy to me. Is there a collab going on? Was this approved?
