Just want to apologize to the mods and members for my first post regarding the value of knives.
I'm in quite a few different forums and should have read some rules first about your forum.

So, are the Manix 2 and/or the Benchmade 707 good edc knives. Are they good representatives of their respective makers?

I'd like to add a couple more pocket knives to my tiny stable of knives. Right now my edc has been a Sog Twitch 2.

Sorry again.

Les

I don't have ether but like both & would gladly pick one up if the price was right.

Big step up from the Sog.

The Manix 2 is awesome, especially considering the price. Seems steep to people when they're new, but it feels like a more expensive knife. Unfamiliar with the 707, but my favorite BM is the 940 so far.

Regarding your first post about knife values - I wouldn't worry about it. We see that question on a regular basis, so don't get hung up on it. Welcome.

8 out of 10 peeps on here would choose the Manix2 over a 707. I like them both. However, neither are a knife I prefer. Not a knock on either, just not for me.

As LG&M said, both are a considerable jump in quality over the Twitch.

I would go with a Lightweight Manix 2 in s110v. Plenty strong for edc tasks. Better representatives of Spyderco in my opinion are the Paramilitary 2 and Delica 4. Both can be had with upgraded steel and both are very pocketable and extremely versatile.

No need for the apology, we've all been there. Your gonna fit in just fine around here. Welcome

You're good. The warnings are our way of reminding new members there are a lot of rules. :)

Every model of Manix is a fine knife. It is a Spyderco, after all. The 707 is a classic Benchmade. The 710 and smaller 705 were early axis lock folders, and they got them right from the start.

I like the Military, but the Para Military has become an almost universal favorite. If you're looking for a classic knife you can beat on, the Benchmade Griptilians come in a huge variety. All reliable and most affordable.

Sir, is it or not a requirement to make an introductory post?

I think of the Manix 2 as the epitome of an EDC knife. It is one of the best offerings from spyderco imo, I would go for the version in 110v and call it a career.

Sorry for being off topic but holy serrations on that digicam military Batman I didn't know Spyderco ever used those type or are they hand made on an original PE?

I bought it pimped. It's a Franken-Mili. PE Blue s90v with swapped g10 and milled stand-offs. I was just lucky to land this monster. LOL
