Fishin' with your Traditional Knives

Good timing on this thread, I just finished building a reproduction of a 1976 Abu 4500C.
So on it's first fishing trip I carried my favorite bait knife and an Indian River Jack, for the cleaner work. Lunch.

That is a great looking fillet knife!

I'm actually having a small batch of those built. 3 of 6 are un spoken for,so if you or anyone is interested, please PM me privately thank you

Here's a old Colonial fish knife that would normally have yellow scales and tin bolsters. I put some cow horn on it and use it for trout fishing below a deep water Ozark lake dam. I think I am pretty close in being right by saying this was actually likely made by Camillus.....300

Nice additions to the thread everyone.

The Copper Top Fish Barlow is wonderful with some fine stag !!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::D

I played around with making my own wooden plugs last year myself. Here are a couple of mine. I made the small freshwater popper first and it was pretty successful, so I made a larger saltwater version. Shown here with my Ebony TC of course. ;)

Thanks for the compliments Brad. It's really not too difficult wit an air brush. I have a good friend that's been making them for years tutor me in the making of various baits.

Thank you Rob. The Ebony Barlow puts my work to shame. (Gotta talk knives ya know :D  ;))

I am not very good at taking pics that show the true size but the big one weighed 7.78 on my digital scales. Both knives were gifted from outstanding forum members.
