Not sure, honestly. Are they done selling them? I haven’t seen any direct from CPK the last couple of sales.
I just took off the scales to show my horrible maintenance habits. The knife is an ultra hardcore user. I’m sure you can take the scales off and paracord wrap it.
I actually prefer no epoxy, maintaining under the handles is easy, if a thin film of oil is put under the handles it's just about set it and forget it. I like being able to easily change scales too. I have knives both epoxied and held with fasteners, both good. This just shows the importance of epoxy (should be) under the scales, especially with such expensive knives labeled for quality. And, Just like fasteners are mandatory. Id probably glue them up if I was you, if that's what you are regularly seeing.
I don’t know why I didn’t think of this when I got the DEK. I'm just salty lol I want a new tanto dek to use too.

Nice trio - I have all three of those too, and the Magnate in MC just wont rust. I only just got my DEK2s, but I used my DEK1 this summer and didn't think to look under the scales. But I also didn't sweat or bleed all over it, so I should be safe.It has character, it’s still my daily. I alternate between this, the Magnate and the Ratmandu.
Damn it! I was wanting to get a DEK 3 for the thinner blade. I’m in Turkey now and traveling the world. Probably won’t be back in the US for another year or so. I’ll have to hope that they’re not shelving it for good. It's my understanding that only the DEK3 is getting shelved for future manufacture. I believe the DEK1s and DEK2s are still going to be something they offer in the future. (Don't quote me on that though)
More DEK2 goodness. This one needs to get some of its new knocked off of it still.

And a pic with all three DEKs:

Great Collection of fixed blades! The number of fixed blades I have has fluctuated greatly over the years, it has slimmed down considerably. This is some of them currently. These have seen everything from killing hogs/deer to processing wood and food and everything in between. I went on a fixed blade edc kick for a long while.
How's your fixed blade knife stable looking?

This is great advice, thank you Roland!I've had them like this. Nothing done wrong on your side. I think capillary force pulls humidity under the scales. Sand it, put some froglube on the tang, and put it back together. Will look like new and smell good, too![]()
