Fixed blades

Had a package arrive today from shinyedges shinyedges . Along with the 2 15n20 knives he'd been trying he included his Busse P&L Statement to take for a spin. Got rained out as far as work was concerned, so I split a little kindling for the stove.

This is my first time actually using a Busse knife... I really like this one, it's solid and reassuring in hand. I hit the edge on the strop after my short session with it, infi seems very well behaved so far as sharpening is concerned. I'll be packing it along to work for the rest of the week, hopefully I'll be able to really let it stretch it's legs.

Last week I tried to order a Terava 140, but they were temporarily out of stock. I ordered a 110 on Wednesday, it shipped Thursday, and received it today. The knife ergos are great. I love the spine being full thickness up until very close to the tip (it is a utilitarian knife that will get some hard use). The handle is big enough to allow thick gloves (already had snow here), is very nicely shaped. The Boltaron sheath seems very secure, but allows drawing smoothly. Blade is nice and sharp. I will be taking it with me to my cabin tomorrow to get some chores done and will find something to cut!🤣

I will be getting a 140 and 200 soon.

The 200 is the best one in the line up. I forgot I still have mine in the basement.

I think so as well, a small sculpted handle with hidden tang, a titanium bolsters with museum fit to the handle and a very nice solid feeling leather sheath with a wrap around retention strap. The knife is quite secure even without that strap as it's a snug fit into the sheath.
LionSteel calls this model the Willy, I heard tell because it was a design borrowed from a fellow named Wilson that they saw him using such a knife in a pub cutting up items for customers.

Cleared out around a fence while waiting for my brother to make a quick repair on the tractor. P&L statement is definitely a viable tool for this application (I'd usually have used my machete, but what's the point of having a knife for a test drive if you're not gonna drive it?).IMG_20231017_104408363.jpgIMG_20231017_104444271.jpgIMG_20231017_104716458.jpgIMG_20231017_104859251.jpgIMG_20231017_105059087.jpg
Gonna have to pull this out to get through with brush. Unfortunately I'll be spending some time on leg irons here.
