I prefer the 119 or 120 to the 124. I tried to love the 124 and conceptually it should be a favorite but i much prefer my 119. Same blade length and less bulky. The 124 handle is also kind of obnoxious.

You are 100% correct and being far too kind. I can't believe that I made that mistake.

Because Rick's post was in reference to the TOPS, I guess I just assumed "full/exposed tang", and my mind's eye locked-onto the 124. Despite knowing the difference between the General and the Frontiersman, I kept using the "120" number in Rick's post while posting about the 124 the entire time.


I guess I ain't the sharpest tool in the lamp.

I just got it last week but have really been enjoying it! The handle and balance are superb. I love the 1/8 stock on it too. I have just been using it for daily tasks but also got a chance to sit down with it and make about 10 tent stakes. It performed as great as you could ask for from a non scandi knife. I honestly didn’t get the hype until i got this one in a trade.

The 124 worked as well. You answered my questions. Both are quality knives. It is like a lot of things, personal preference.
