Will, it's a bit smaller than I typically go for but I wouldn't count it out. How's the tip thickness?Chris, these both work great for EDC. You might think the AMS is a little small but it’s perfectly capable and disappears with an Ulticlip.

It’s pretty stout all the way out. I don’t think it’s snapping off without something going really haywire. I’ll snap a pic when I get back to it.
FFG makes it a really nice slicer if you lay the edge back a little.

Thanks, I don't go crazy prying with tips but I have been known to jimmy a door if I leave my keys inside or dig a bullet out of wood to recover it. It's a busse so I'd expect it to be pretty stout but the park ranger I had was a tad to thin out on the tip for my uses.

Gotta say, I am surprised you are fine with the dek1? Its got a pretty thin tip. Its the only thing id change about it myself, if I could.

I wish it did have a bit more meat on the tip too. The saving grace for the dek 1 tip is the 3v being heat treated optimally. It won't bend the way a lower hardness will, so long as I don't break the tip off. I carried the dek 2 for a hot minute, but one day I cut my food with it and was slightly inconvenienced by not having a blade shape that worked better for food prep. (
the inner dilemmas of a man with to many knives lol)Plus the 2 is quite a bit heavier for those days I'm ulticliping to my sweat pants. I wish the dek 1 carried that thickness further out to the tip.
I may yet just sharpen a belly into the dek 2 and go back to that one.

It is white pine, hopefully we'll be able to get some lumber out of them. Gonna have to cant them up with the Alaskan mill first, but our hopes are high

In my culture it is strictly forbidden to accept such generosity. I have to decline your offer. The duel would be much one-sided in any case.

Here are two I picked up around 2016 or so. Just found the photos on a drive I thought was in storage along with the knives themselves. Chris Reeve Nyala and Impofu. Those who know Nyalas will notice something, perhaps.
The sheath is marked, but blade looks sterile. Super nice blades!
