Fixed blades

I'm not familiar with Kodiak, specs? Where are they out of?

The original Designer/Maker (*"Alex"/"Aurora Borealis Knives") is a Member here. He used to sell in the "Knifemaker's Market"/Exchange. Here is one of his posts from 2020...

If I'm not mistaken, he lives and works in Ontario, Canada.

Here's one of his vids comparing the Kodiak to the BK-9...

Here's his explanation of the evolution of the Kodiak...

I almost bought one of his originals back around 2020. However, at that time, I was providing fulltime care for my Mom (*who was steadily slipping into Alzheimer's) and missed my chance.

Sometime after that, I contacted Alex. Apparently, by that time, he'd contracted with Victor Lin of "Work Tuff Gear" and licensed the design to Vic and his Crew.

As far as I can tell, the rest is history.

Thanks for the history and info! I do quite like the looks. My favorite choppers are made by Nathan, busse, Keffeler. Bill makes a hell of a chopper too.

I have my fair share of Carothers, Busses, Siegles, etc...and agree with all that. ALL are absolutely wonderful fixies.

With that, one of the nice things about being "old" to knives, but "new" to this Site, is that I'm not easily caught-up in the "Group think". It seems that, whenever someone asks for a "recommendation", they ALWAYS get the "Blade Forums 5"...Spyderco, Benchmade, CRK, Busse, and Carothers.

Not meaning to insult the "Regulars", but I'm kinda' glad to be beyond all that. There are SO MANY wonderful knives out there, it seems crazy to limit myself.

Again, your mileage may vary...

I just put in a request for notification when back in stock. I love useful knives😀

Man, I'm all about the 5"-7.5" Jack-of-all-Trades/robust "Field Knives".

Because we're all so different, I absolute HATE to recommend things. Despite that, I think that "Wolverine" will serve you well.

Happy hunting.

Thank you sir.
I hear you about recommendations- I don’t care for some that others love, and vice versa. I quit hunting a while back and treat our remote 240 acres as a preserve. Always have a need for working knives though!
