Renato, I agree the Burlap feels and looks great! The Burlap seems to provide a slightly better Grip than the Edge-Cut Antique Micarta.:) A New favorite for sure (especially when Edge-cut Antique Micarta is not available);)

Imitation is the highest form of flattery: If / when I should be so lucky to score a UFK, I will beg / grovel / plead to Momma NinJo to hook me up with an exact same set up

And she (NinJO) will Uncle Matty, Gotta a feeling your going to "Get one" this Friday:thumbsup: I have no plans to get another one (UFK-FK2 whatever) until the Pre-order (maybe December), unless sales Slow Down, and I don't foresee that happening anytime soon:mad:

I won't even be around this Friday :( But I have asked a very generous samaritan on here if I could kindly ask for my first ever proxy assistance :)

I’ve been after a Field Knife for over a year. When I heard that the FK2 was coming out, I gave up on trying to get the original FK and decided to wait for the new model. I’m glad I did because this knife is amazing.

The FK2 (or UFK) is built like a tank. This one will surely outlast me. I’ve always loved CPM 3V, but since I trek through rainy and humid areas, my 3V Bark River blades always rusted and pitted on me if I didn’t wipe it down and oil it after every use. I’m interested in seeing how Delta 3V holds up to the humidity, rain, blood, and salty air. I wonder if anyone has done any rust tests to their CPKs like Survive has with theirs.

The handle is great. There are so many choices for handle material, but the buffed black micarta scales are perfect for me since I prefer the black/white/grey tones over the natural/brown/antique/earthy tones. Even though I got the scales buffed, I feel that it’s plenty grippy. My hands aren’t as big as a lot of these guys here, so to have a comfortable grip, I have to grip near the middle of the handle near the swell. The gap between my grip and the knife’s guard and edge looks a little awkward, but it doesn’t affect the way I use the knife. I can comfortably change my grip depending on my situation.

The blade shape is perfect for what I need. There is a lot of belly near the tip which is good for precision cuts. It’s good for skinning and processing game. It’s definitely not a combat or “tactical” knife because the tip is wide and not optimized for stabbing. The design is clean and well thought out. There’s no mall-ninja bs like fancy curves, lines, or cutouts that offer nothing to usage. Sorry to those looking for a zombie killer — although this is the one knife I’d grab in a SHTF situation.

After a week or two of admiring and babying the knife, I’ll start batonning, feathersticking, chopping wood, preparing food, carving, processing tinder and kindling, and beating the crap out of it. This tank will undoubtedly take the abuse without issue. The only thing that it’s missing is an area where I can use to strike a ferro rod. Lighters and matches are sometimes unreliable.

I want to express my appreciation to some of the CPK community members. Thank you Fonedork for reaching out to me and offering to proxy for me when I got frustrated with failing at these sales. Thank you to ndmiller for giving up your spot so that I can finally get my hands on this beautiful piece of art. Finally, thank you to Nathan and Jo for being so responsive over the past year and taking the time to answer my stupid questions.

I. Love. CPK.

I will wait until the sales slow down a bit before posting everywhere about how great this knife is.

lots of good people in this subforum ... and many acts of kindness ... glad you got the knife you wanted and always glad to see members helping out ... congrats!

Do you remember the times you used to get first?!

I believe I only came 1st once, but then again that was when someone had felt sorry for my sorry ass and let me have at it... I tried to be too clever by half and changed my method, have a different Mac set up now and in the process, yours truly Mat the dumbarse managed to fooque himself so well and properly! Oh welp, I had a great run and it was nice knowing you all... Goodbye, cruel world!
