Flashlights

I have seen some Cree-branded lights. I don't know if they are from Cree themselves but my money is down on them being either OEM'd out to a Chinese factory or just some enterprising company who figured putting "Cree" on their lights would make them sell more.

Seoul uses Cree emitters in their LED's but offer a different "LED package" using a different kind of lens (silicone vs. glass) and their own phosphor substrate. I prefer Crees (insert technical mumbo jumbo about Seoul not taking high voltage well) but in the few lights I do have with Seoul I have to say I have been quite happy.

I EDC a ed2 from surefire i like it but the fenix t1 is a better deal but its big and chunky, and its made in china. I keep it in the truck as a back up light, at iirc it has 225 lumens on high Thats a preaty good 60 dollar back up light.

Man those McLux and McGizmo are sure darn nice. How much do those things run? I may eventually fork out the doe for one of those.

Hard to go wrong Surefire and Fenix. I own a few from both. I recently picked up a OLight at Blade08 and it is my current favorite. It is the same size as my SureFire E2E and uses a Cree LED. The surefire E2E with a KL1 Head was my previous favorite light. On top of that it comes with 5 different modes. Strob, SOS, Low, Medium, and High. I am very impressed with this Olight.

In that price range...go with the Olight man! I paid about 89bucks or so for mine.

Olight? Is that a Fenix?

BTW: Sorry for the OT threads I have started here. But it looks like we are all enjoying it and I am learning a ton. Plus I need to be able to have sufficient light to see what I am chopping on that dark, stormy night. ;)

Olight is the manufacture.

Heres a pic of some of mine to show off sizes.

Fenix-Store.com is where I order all my Fenixes... and believe me, I have a lot of them. Free shipping, good service, great prices.

What is the shipping time usually like?

Gimmejr: :eek: It looks like your illumination needs are set!

I've had stuff take as little as two days for stuff to get to me from Fenix-Store. He is located in Georgia so it would probably take about a week and change for stuff to get to you. They ship First Class (free) unless you ask for priority. Unless they're seriously backlogged they will have your stuff out in the mail the day of, or the day after you order.

I am down to either the Fenix TK10 or the Olight T20.

Either of them will suit you well. I am pretty sure that Hogwash has a TK10. That thing is pretty darn bright on turbo mode. I remember it being a bit brighter than my Olight. Not sure if it is because of the more focused beam or not. My Olight has a very bright and focused center with a very nice spill over which I kinda prefer. The TK10 is also wider and a tad bigger. Both of them are very nice.

I still prefer the Olight because it has the SOS and Strobe features in addition to being slimmer and more compact.
