Flashlights

The Inovas are terrible for durability. The Photons are much, much better. Honestly I think Inova gives bad name to squeezy lights, although their other, larger lights are pretty good. I like the UI and features of the Photon Freedom but being on my keys I had a problem with it turning on accidentally which is why I usually recommend the Photon II. The accidental activation problem can be solved in a few ways, however, such as using the tiny cradle it comes with to protect the button, or putting it in trial mode when not using it.

I should have my Fenix TK10 by Sat. I will post a quick review here but I can only compare it to the cheap flash lights I have had. Well, I have had one Inova which woeks pretty good with blue light.

Bummer, I was going to tell you to check out the Lumapowers at www.batteryjunction.com, I have a DMini and it freaking rocks especially for the price!

Well like INFI, packs, etc... I will no doubt have more than one so I will check out the Luma Powers. Thanks man.

BTW: My Fenix TK10 arrived today. What a cool little light. I will have to test it tonight and get back on here with a review. ;)

I have two Novatac EDC 120Ps that I absolutely love. See: http://www.novatac.com/edc-p.html

They're small, lightweight, very bright, and always work for me. My first one is OD, and my second one is black. I bought the black one at the 2008 SHOT Show for a mere $125 at the Novatac booth.

I took this photo at the 2008 SHOT Show:

In case anyone else has been looking for one of those at a price near what Lunde paid, The Battery Station has them on sale for $130.

Im kinda of a flashlight nut! & I own about 45 flashlights mostly Surefires! & a few others,
I have a couple Streamlight Sidewinders there very cool lights & 3- Pentagon lights, 2- Gladius night-ops with GG&G strike Bezel's, you gotta love the strobe feature on these!, it works great on crack heads!!!:D

But I just recently picked up one of the new SureFire E2D-LED versions with
a heavy duty clip & a 2 stage switch, it has 5 lumens & 120 lumens, very bright light & longer run time than the older non LED version, this also has the Strike Bezel, so this light will really work great as a impact tool too! & its just slightly longer than the old E2D version or G2, G2-Z, 6P & Z2 size lights, it really fits good in my hands, I do have meaty hands so Im not really a big fan of some of the smaller lights, for me the smaller lights just don't work that great as a defensive impact tool? for people that are looking for a light &
self-defense capabilities!
So Ive been carrying this new E2D with me every where I go! & now I think I have found the perfect EDC light? Now & need a couple more!!!:D
I highly recomend this light!

I purchased a few fenix lights. LOD1 and P3D. They are amazing. p3d puts out 215 lumens. Its the size of a mini mag. little shorter, and its like the sun.. Go to Brightguy.com and check them out. I also bought a streamlight key chain $12 light that will light up your whole back yard and will last for 90 hours or more, but my favorite is a Pelican for about $12 that is waterproof for 500 feet and it is great. I bought 5 for my kids and others and they love them. Keep them on your key chain, indestructable. Check them out.

Carrot...would you please share more about these lights. It seems you need to know a lot to order one. Thanks,

J

Don (McGizmo) offers his lights in "waves", which are similar to Busse ganzas, only without as much info about when they are going to happen (and usually only one model is for sale). The waves are announced on the McGizmo forum (on candlepowerforums). So everyone sends their ordering e-mails, hoping to be among the lucky few. Don asks for payment only AFTER the light(s) have been shipped, and that kind of trust is very refreshing. His prices are always quite fair, and the lights usually go for a lot more second hand, if you're even able to find one.

There are actually two ongoing waves right now.
One is for the SunDrop XP, a 2-cell pure flood light with a very special high-CRI LED that renders colors a lot better than any other LEDs. It's not very bright compared to lights with today's high flux emitters. Because it doesn't have a reflector, but instead uses a (beautiful) sapphire lens, it projects an even flood of light that doesn't throw the light very far but is awesome for close range work. More info about the light and ordering procedures are here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=204108

The other wave is for the titanium 2x123 clicky pak that the SunDrop XP uses. This is just the pak and not a complete light, you'll have to provide the head yourself. Ordering and info thread here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=203816
