Flashlights

Thanks kwazy and Carl! They're mounted in slots that were milled by a very good friend and another friend installed them. Here's another view.

I bought that light when they were called RaLights and have constantly been swapping LEDs since these days. So the old light now sports the current XP-G2.

Always in my pocket. Love the legacy version for the awesome runtimes on ultralow compared to the new generation. When camping I use the ultralow alot, it's enough to see in your tent when you wake up at night.

Also got one with triple nichia

My wife bought me this led candle lantern a while back at Hallmark. I decided to get artsy fartsy with it. Hey, my HDS has a candle mode right?

Here is something special. A Mule with the new XP-G2. The size fits perfectly into my edc. The quality is right there with my other custom lights. I think may even surpass them.;)

i wanted to avoid this thread but hey :D

i got an old surefire L5, an old blackhawk! nightops gladius, a newer surefire e2d led defender and a nitecore srt8

the chinese stuff definitely improved but i still prefer a surefire...

so now - should i get a HDS or a lenslight? :D

I went with an HDS rotary 250. I love it, I carry it every day, right along side my Hinderer. Many here will agree. Nothing against Lenslight though!

always wanted to try a single 123 flashlight - surefire came up with the e1led defender - looks neat, also the lens light mini

but mostly i am interested in the HDS rotary - since i use a kind of rotary dial on my other lamps a lot

so with the HDS - you either get the clip or tie a lanyard around it? - a lanyard seems like a cool solution for a single 123 flashlight... :D

what about their sapphire lens?

yes Rubi - flush clicky is what i was looking at too

Clip on regular HDS, no clip (yet) on rotary. Lanyard or Holster for known location carrying. I s/w Henry about the sapphire lens.
His message basically was, Love to take your money BUT honestly it's overkill and bragging rights. The stock lens is plenty tough and that has been my experience as well. As for the Rotary, use it exclusively should sell my others. Never would carry a non-rotary after getting used to it.
My battery(s) last forever in mine.

^thanks for your input guys!

...overkill and bragging rights? - sound like exactly the things i often fall for :D

another nice tool to look forward to!

This thread began looking for a very capable, small as possible, robust, single 123, full-featured; and above all...reliable pocketable illumination tool.

What the majority of us have settled on is the HDS...most went w/ rotary.

I'm still looking for a future version that's a bit lighter, a bit brighter and a bit grippier.

Just because it's the only light I had on me, Maratac AAA with 3" Wharnie

Nothing wrong w/the Maratac lights. I've got two, the copper CR123, and the 2AA "extreme" and I'm very happy with both. But now they have the Rev 2 2AA Extreme, and they dropped the price on the copper CR123. Oh well. If I hadn't just bought a house, I'd pick up some more! My pockets aren't deep enough for lights over $50 at this point. I can certainly appreciate them though!!

Just like knives, my attitude toward lights and most everything is...there isn't a darn thing wrong with the tool "you" choose that fits "your" wants/needs. Just know (as I do) that what works now may fail at some point...I find this very true w/ items made of inferior materials or quality.

My wants/needs may differ from "yours", my use of "other/lesser/etc." item may have proved failure for my need/wants...and that's how I found the items I continue to support and purchase.
