Flea market finds

Here's a Camillus I picked up for three bucks. Walk and talk is flawless.

Matches my peanut.

I am jealous of your flea markets. The one nearby only has people selling new cheaply made Chinese 'tactical' knives. Nothing cool like these.

Hey norcaldude try storage sales too man or try to go into more rural areas I beat you'll find some

Great finds guys. I love finding an old neglected knife at a flea market or yard sale take it home clean it throw a little Flitz on it oil it up and sharpen it. All of a sudden you have something that will be with you for years.

Nice to see that these old gems are still out there to be found! I've not yet found anything worth bringing home, but it's a lot of fun, isn't it? Poking around in bins and cabinets, barns and farm auctions, hoping your eye will fall on an overlooked classic?

Thanks for this thread. A bit too much snow on the ground for yard sales and flea markets here but perhaps a trip to the city antique stores is in order.

I didn't find this at a Flea Market but if you consider a Antique Store than I'm good. So here is my store.

Do you see what I see? A Cutlery knife display case. No its not a Schrade but I'll use it anyways. Lol I was Christmas shopping last night at the mall and saw an antique store. So I figured lets see if I can find my wife's "Big item" inside. So I walked all around and couldn't find anything she would like. Then as I'm about to walk out the front door I look down onto the floor and see this case. At the bottom of it on the inside read Gesco Cutlery Company. I didn't recognize the name. So I called the guy over and asked the price. As I was waiting to hear some crazy number...he came back and said $25; SOLD. Turns out Gesco Cutlery Company sells Japan knives and they are based out of Orange Park, FL.

P.S. Does anyone have any different information on this knife company?

What a great find man super cool that's the kinda stuff I look for all the time.

Ok guys so me and the wife went out today to some antique shops around Chicago.i found a few knives and would like to share them with you so tell me what you think.

first up is this stockman uncle henery from schrade paid 10 bucks for it nice knife so i grabbed it .

next is this serpentine jack from Imperial cost me 5 bucks and i liked it

Now this one i really like this is also a serpentine jack but from a brand i know nothing about is a Hammer brand knife so if you know anything about this please chime in its made well and sturdy paid 5 bucks.

now the last one i bought for the scales they seem to be acrylic but man did they call to me so i bought it for 8 bucks. Its a imperial also but again the scales drew me to it also a serpentine jack.

So any information on these knives you can give would be great thanks for checking them out i love to share these things.

I like those Keith. All shell knives except for the Uncle Henry. Good examples with full blades.

Here is my find from yesterday. A Dick Tracy detective knife, always wanted one when I was a kid.

Hey gonebad395 imperial bought out hammer in the 30s so imperial and hammer are pretty much the same thing unless you have a really old one.

Oh man that dick Tracy knife is cool. Man I love vintage you know they wouldn't be making a doc mcstuffins knife today. And thanks for the information Isaacherring

Keith, I think you scored big-time!!:thumbup: When I was growing up back in the 1960s, seemed like everyone I knew had Imperials or Colonials, so I really enjoy picking those up if I can find them. Getting 3 in the same day is unreal!! I don't have an Uncle Henry yet, but that's something high on my list! (FWIW, my knife budget is pretty small, but I'd pay what you did in a heartbeat.)

Mark, congrats on the cool Dick Tracy knife!:cool: Even I can recognize the clip blade , but what are the other two "tools"? A magnifying glass and a whistle?

Some nice looking knives in this thread! I look every time my dad or wife want to go antiquing but haven't come up with anything too interesting lately.

I saw an imperial barlow at an antique store downtown today but didn't go for it. I was blown away by how much they wanted for it. First the Clip blade was broken in almost half and it was so loose anyway that the pen blade just about fell out of it. They were asking $50 for this thing. Yowch.
