Great shopping trip Keith

Congratulations on the Dick Tracey knife Mark

I had to look up doc mcstuffins, no they wouldn't make that for sure!
Oh man that dick Tracy knife is cool. Man I love vintage you know they wouldn't be making a doc mcstuffins knife today. And thanks for the information Isaacherring

Thanks. I had only seen pictures before this one.
Super cool Dick Tracy knife, Mark!! I have never seen one:cool:

Yes...A "crime stopper whistle and a clue detector"!
Mark, congrats on the cool Dick Tracy knife!:cool: Even I can recognize the clip blade , but what are the other two "tools"? A magnifying glass and a whistle?:D

Some really cool finds here. Some awesome people too.
A big part of why I love Bladeforums is the people.

I do love the local flea-markets. Go almost every weekend.
Partly for the prices and partly for the love of the hunt.
About half to 2/3s of my collection has some connection
to the flea. I don't have a photobucket account so I can't
post pics(sorry) but I'll tell of my latest two scores.

First was last weekend, a Boker USA large stockman.
Yellow handle. Blade tang marked 98(tree logo)85v.
Almost mint. $5. I had an unfair advantage on this
one because I know the lady selling it.lol. But still...

Second, this Saturday I found brand new in the box,
one of the new 2016 Schrade schf45 Leroy Bowies.
$22. I do live in Kingsport TN. Not 10 minutes from
the Taylor warehouse and tend to find alot of cheap
Schrades. Not sure if that's a coincidence or someone
local playing dirty? Knives in general are big in the
local market. Idk.

Ok guys so me and the wife went out today to some antique shops around Chicago.i found a few knives and would like to share them with you so tell me what you think.
...
So any information on these knives you can give would be great thanks for checking them out i love to share these things.

Keith, have you ever seen this Imperial tang stamp chart? It can help you approximate the ages of your Imperials and Hammer Brands.

Hey GT thanks for that link my friend
You're welcome, Keith. :) Almost exactly 2 years ago, I came in from shoveling some of the snow a January blizzard was dropping on us, and found a little jack knife at my place at the kitchen table. My wife had discovered an old Imperial serpentine jack that had belonged to her dad, and he gave it to her when he got a new knife. She had put it in a box, and I had never seen it in almost 30 years of marriage, but she stumbled across it and thought I might find it interesting. I spent an incredibly enjoyable afternoon cleaning it up (although probably anything would have been "incredibly enjoyable" compared to shoveling in a blizzard :D), and decided I'd start carrying a knife again, which I hadn't done for 45 years, since I left the farm where I grew up. That's essentially how I started a hobby that became an obsession, and how I ended up at BladeForums, and was happy as a clam to run across that Imperial tang stamp chart! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Ted, that's an impressive bunch of bargains you've got!!:eek::thumbup:
I especially admire the Scout knife with the Philips screwdriver, and the "wireframe" knife on the right of the bottom photo. Is there a "cap lifter notch" built into the blade on that wireframe knife?:cool:

Great story on the Imperial! Now that is a treasure in so many ways! Thanks, I needed a smile:D

Yeah GT you aren't far from me I remember that blizzard my back was sore lol.

Another flea market find, Sears Craftsman, notice unlike most Scout/Utility it has a secondary pen blade wneb most have an awl and it has a clip primary, most are spears.

I picked up one of these Craftsman scouts as well. Pawn shop, not flea market, and a little more rusty than the above example, which is very nice. Also snagged a Craftsman stockman in excellent condition at the Flea Market this past weekend. I had seen this knife before and passed it up last month because I already had 3 other knives purchased that day. Went back and made it mine this time.

The Colonial Mountain Guide was a Flea Market find. Now that I am liking these traditional patterns, the monthly market is a gold mine of interesting finds.

The guy I bought the Stockman from has a host of nice vintage knives, but many are priced right outside of "good deal" range IMO, so I will have to see what I can get once a month from him and maybe I can get a deal or two. I was very happy with the Stockman for $18, which is probably what it is worth when looking on ebay.

I got a lot of knives from an online auction, 2 old kamp king knives an imperial 2 bladed knife, a colonial barlow, a colonial trails end boy scout knife, a 2 bladed Utica cutco knife, a sabre knife an old Kent pen knife, and a camilus
