Flipping from the exchange

Yea actually no. I’m here because I enjoy knives and it’s a hobby to collect them. My father has collected knives since I was a kid so I have always had an interest in them. With this place I get to see lots of pics of nice knives and learn etc etc. It totally isn’t just about money, not even close. If I make a few bucks along my knife journey then great, why not. Your blanket statement really is far from facts

A hobby to collect them to sell on Ebay, you mean? Dude, please stop already. I don't care about your opinions, or what you think are "facts". You've been seen by a ton of people snapping up knives, and those knives then end up on your Ebay store. "It totally isn't about the money!" Really? Then resell those knives here for what you paid for them.

What's that I hear? Crickets? That's what I effing thought.

Yea because you know how many knives I buy and how many get resold right? Didn’t think so. It’s funny that my collection continues to grow but yet according to you I flip everything I buy. Kinda doesn’t make logical sense

You clearly didn't read it the first time, so I'll say it again: "It totally isn't about the money!" Really? Then resell those knives here for what you paid for them. Simple as that.

You know someone else wants it. So you buy it first solely for the reason you can charge them more and they'll still buy it for whatever reasoning. Your directly profiting on someone else's loss there. They didn't need you to facilitate the sale and you've done nothing but make someone else set back

You really don’t make sense. The knives I bought to keep are mine. I paid for them, they go into my showcase and they stay there. They aren’t resold.

As the forum rules state, make sure you can afford the knife before you buy it. Nobody makes them pay my price. If it’s to high they move along. They buy and are happy to do so according to my feedback. As I also stated earlier (maybe try reading that) I sell MANY for what I paid.

There are knives on your Ebay store right now that you have bought here. Also, I make plenty of sense, but the issue for you is that you don't like having what it is you do spoken of in unfriendly, candid terms. If you buy knives here, and "it's totally not about the money", then when selling 'em, resell 'em here for what you paid. Easy peasy, right? Since it's not about the money and all?

🤣 🤣 🤣

Definitely not the words of someone who buys knives here at lower prices, then sells elsewhere for higher prices, definitely not.

I’m very bored with this thread. As I stated earlier people can twist things and make them fit what they say. I don’t. Edd to be part of that. I spoke up and stand by what I said and what I do. It won’t change

Which is fine. What IS going to change most likely is people selling to you when they come across this thread. Good enough for me. Have a great day!

some folks choose to sell their knives here because they're part of a community
Agreed...but a lot of the people selling here don't participate outside of the Exchange; are they considered part of the "community"? Some buy and sell here, some buy here and sell on more than one site. Is the difference in this particular case the eBay store? Personally, I think a number of sellers should be considered dealers; but I think the eBay store is a pretty obvious benchmark. (Spark has said he doesn't care to police what people do outside of this site; but there has been some precedent for him getting involved)

It's not for me to say what constitutes being part of the community, because I'm not some arbiter of who and what's acceptable. However, I'd daresay it's pretty easy for folks to see who's here to be a part of the discussion, and who's just here to put some money in their pockets. If the majority* of your posts are on the Exchange, then it's probably the latter. The thing these flippers never seem to understand is that it's not that they're here to make money that people ultimately take issue with. Incidentally, I always love the "YOU GUYS MUST HATE CAPITALISM!" comments these threads always seem to ultimately evoke from the flipbag brigade. It's that no one likes being a mark. If I sell a knife at a fair price, only to see it posted up elsewhere for a lot more, I feel taken advantage of. Is that right? Wrong? Logical? Illogical? Doesn't matter, it's how I (and many, many others who find themselves in this situation) feel when we discover it. Flippers try the "Well, they were happy to sell, and I was happy to buy, so what I do with it, isn't any business of theirs" but the fact is, people don't like being taken advantage of. Simple as that. When you show through your actions that you're just here to take advantage of people, that's when people start feeling the need to make threads like this, and making sure the community knows who the hell you are, and to warn people about you. That's a pretty clear concept.

As for the Ebay thing, that in itself puts the lie to any bleating claims about "it's not about the money!", in my opinion.

* or in the cases of some of these folks, almost all
