Folder

No joking , dude
I spoke to Warren Thomas himself via email a while ago inquiring about neckers. I was curious about how the heck you sharpen these things?
He said they don't require sharpening like a normal knife b/c the carbide holds up very well. If put through heavy use though the edge may need to be touched up and that is when you send it in to get a new layer of carbide added on. It is just the nature of that design.

So technically you don't ever need to sharpen these things.
Very different from the conventional blade.

I cant tell from your tone if thats a joke... The people at TAD have told me when I go in there that if you use it frequently it will wear down and that you have to send it in to get replaced...

Why do you think they will never get dull? What have you used them on?

(If thats wrong I'd love to be corrected, they are sooo beautiful I'd love an excuse to buy one)

I'm not looking for indestructible. Just a good hard use titanium frame lock with and INFI blade....

I won't take it out and run it over with a tank just because it's a Busse...I just don't see the point. To prove that I can break it? Seems crazy.

INFI FOLDER DEATH CHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, I promise you guys I will post plenty of pics and go into detail why and how the INFI folder failed. After all it is a folder , by design they are weaker than any fixed blade.

Soo yea, bring on the folder..

Off Topic, I still have not broken my sarsquatch yet ?? This thing is a F ing tank.. INFI fixed blades are like no other !!!

pbubsy---Get ready to say good-Bye to that
Umnumm, when the Busse folder rolls into town!
Uncle Jarvis WILL be the first one to bust that Busse folder!
And Jerry knows it! ;)

I agree dude. Considering all the WT s I posted belong to you.. :D

The question is, what on earth are you going to do with all those letter openers you have ?? Just come over to my house and dump them off on me. After this thread they are all worthless now . :grumpy:

OT: The SSSHSJLE has landed !!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Oh, I almost forgot to say .............. NO CHATTING PLEASE !!!!! com on folks get with the program . Sheesh

this is getting pretty funny...

My ideal knife at this point would be a Sebenza quality knife with just as simple a design with an INFI blade 62-65HRC. If the folder holds up to the benchmark of CRK, I'll be all in.
As far as the Sebenza goes, I don't think it's lacking with the current blade steel. S30V works fine in a folder....especially with Chris's ht. As much as I REALLY want an INFI folder, the sebenza is not lacking in any way shape or form....for me at least.

I've never tried to break it, never will. In fact, I've never tried to break anything more expensive than a $20 machete. I just can't bring myself to destroy a knife :p no matter the cost or repacement warranty. Just like I couldn't race my car into the ground.

BTW: that Hinderer looks like a BAD ASS knife!!! I'd buy a knifel like that with INFI :D Hell, might end up with one as is. Though I think I'd wait for one rather than spend an extra $100. I think the wait for one is around 6 months right now?

pbubsy---Tell Jerry to sell you a slab of INFI. Grind your own blade and stick it on your Seb! That'll do ya.

I'm on a 5 month waiting list. :o

.INFI FOLDER DEATH CHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

As loyal as I am to Busse, I'm crazy about the CRK Sebenza and it's served me very well. I'll soon have the Umnummzaan, and from what I hear about it, it'll take a lot to pry me from it. Jerry's going to have to come up with something incredible (that's at least 62rc if not 65) to convert me as folder wise....I'm pretty loyal to CRK. I'm also a Benchmade fan as well because of the axis lock. In my opinion, the quickest easiest one handed lock out there.

I guess that's why Jerry's taking soo long on designing/releasing his folder. He's got to come out with something truly incredible in order to compete with what's out there. There's no question that INFI is the best, but the design of the knife as a whole will make it or break it.

I have faith that he'll come up with something great, but he's competing with the best out there that have been making folders for a long time....some custom makers ONLY making folders. No question about his fixed blades. I'm obviously nuts for them...they're my favorite, but I'll see about the folder.

I also agree that it will be hard to design something better than the Sebbie for EDC. The sebbie is not flashy in any way but the design is could not be better. Two healthy slabs of titanium with a well made blade of S30V. It's easy to clean and maintain and feels great in the hand. It's well thought out in every way.

I have high end striders and allthough they are probably even stronger, they don't invite the owner to be carried like the Sebbie does.

I love Busse fixed blades but for a folder, Jerry will have to come up with something very special!!

I think the GW would make the greatest and best folder of them all. I am just sick of waiting for a XM-18 I am going on 6 months.

I put my name on a waiting list for an XM-18 in Feb. Was told today to expect another 5 months!

I'm into flippers and had a couple XM-18s, but they just didn't flip, you had to use too much wrist to get it to work, I'd rather have a Sebenza and save a few hundred extra dollars personally.

.

I had the pleasure of handling several xm-18 flippers when I met up with I'mgatman in Miami.. There was absolutely no issue with what you speak of.
Personally I dislike the heat treat protocol CR uses on his blades.

The XM-18 is one hell of a folder..

To each his own................:D

It all depends how you look at it.. From your standpoint all those SH Busse you have are overpriced too .. :D
