It all depends how you look at it.. From your standpoint all those SH Busse you have are overpriced too .. :D

Good thing for him....unlike most of us: He got them when they weren't exactly hot ticket items :p well.....many of them.

I like the Hinderer....but it would have to be something other than S30V....from what I've seen (not with the hinderer, but with benchmades and others) other makers that use S30V tend to produce blades that chip out and are on the brittle side. I like how CRK makes them on the "softer" side. I like how people say that.....seeing as how Chris DESIGNED the steel. I would assume he would know the best way to treat it and trust in that.

I had a Strider and found it to be brittle and had chipping problems with the blade. I ended up convexing it and then selling it off. I'm not too fond of Strider's looks....they're too "TACTICOOL". Not very public friendly. The Sebenza is a bit more non threatening/people friendly. It looks utilitarian. Nothing spared for looks. Except on the embellished models. Something about a fancy knife that looks like it could be worn around the neck is disarming to people and they don't look twice at it unless in admiration.

I can't wait to see what Busse will come up with, regardless...being a dedicated HOG I'll buy one as I've been waiting for one for a while......it's just a question of will it get any pocket time at all with what I've got already to be more than adaquate. Hell, I'm not saying anything....if Jerry takes the same incredible talent to this folder it'll probably push everything else out of my pockets!!!

A dood at CPM, told me that Chris Reeve did not design S30V. That is a myth. True or false?
FOLDERFOLDERFOLDER!!!

I was just looking at my green linen BAD last night
thinking that the blade would make an excellent FOLDER!!!

Come on Boss... bring on the FOLDER!!!!  :D

.

well i guess it didn't work...

True, they were much cheaper when I bought them!

You know what I want.

A titanium frame lock with an INFI blade 3: long. Street legal in most of IL.

But make the Blade of 1/4 INFI!!!

pocket INFI prybar....

:D

I'm grasping at straws.....

Can't go wrong with a Benchmade or a Sebenza :D though I really like my ZDP Delica too....it's been finding a surprising amount of pocket time at work. A good shape for what I use it for! I just checked and my Umnum should be here SATURDAY!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!

i only have a couple of cheap folders.
so who would i talk to about taking my BAD and turning it into a folder?

That would be BAD ass :p seriously though, you should talk to STR....he could probably do it and make it with TI slabs/frame lock. That would be incredible. Your own one of a kind INFI folder :D

I'm into flippers and had a couple XM-18s, but they just didn't flip, you had to use too much wrist to get it to work, I'd rather have a Sebenza and save a few hundred extra dollars personally.

.

Isn't a large sebenza $385? The xm-18 is only $10 more. At least that was the price I was quoted

I believe Rick uses DuraTech 20CV steel and not S30V. I have a few knives with S30V and never had it chip. The only blade I have had chip was one made of ZDP-189 and I think it was because the edge was too fine.

Something like this with an INFI - blade:

Has anybody ever used INFI for making Damascus?

oh yeah: FOLDER DEATH CHAT

I love the ZT 0200. If it had an INFI blade, I probably wouldn't buy another folder until they come out with a folding light saber. probably.

Oh really? Cool, I dunno why I thought S30V....I know I saw one or two with it and thought they all had it. I heard that's some good stuff....how do you like it?

I haven't had any problems with ZDP but then again, the edge is pretty stout. Makes for a great work knife if you're cutting a lot of soft fibrous medium....I don't know how it would do with harder stuff. The hardest I've done is 1/8'' plastic strapping on pallets.
