The owner of the construction company working on our bathroom keeps about 4 to 6 FUKs in his truck at $1 each from Harbor Freight. Sometimes he gives a FUK to somebody who needs it.
The owner of the feed store where I buy hay carries a FUK.
My wife has a FUK which has been really quite nice except for the time the button lock stuck and wouldn't go in and out anymore and I had to take it apart.
I hope your wife, the construction man and the feed store guy are all getting their FUK on and enjoying it heartily!

Thanks, all the FUKs are good, now. In fact, I think I should have a FUK, too.

Seriously, I rarely cut cardboard, but the other day I needed to cut down a large box with double layer, heavy duty corrugated cardboard, and it was a struggle with my Endura that cuts typical corrugated cardboard with ease. Out of curiosity, I tried about a dozen different knives, and the only ones that made long, smooth, easy cuts were the Bugout and Finn Wolf. I regretted that I did not have a box cutter to try.

I actually recently got my first two FUKs, the Coast on the left was an impulse for $10 that I got cause of the awesome ergos, feels very good and will serve well on carpet or whatever. That Craftsman came in a package deal with all kinds of different stuff so I could get a deal on an original Espada Large aluminum. I like it though, has proved useful around the house, for about a fiver considering what I got!

I don't like folding utility knives.

First of all, they just look ugly.

Secondly, cutting things is the reason/excuse for having all my cool blades...if I were to use a utility knife for "real use", then why have all the others, eh?

Now I know, some people see them and think of manly factory workers.
I think more of this:

This homeless guy managed to burn down his entire camp pretty much, and now sleeps in just a carboard enclosure.
He said he was doing fine, but it didn't seem like it so much.
His blade of choice? You guessed correctly...a folding utility knife.

I've met many other homeless folks that were able to live through the winter without burning down their camp.
They had hatchets, Buck knives (or clones), or even the occasional "Zombie Killer" knife, but not a folding utility knife.

So shun the modern plague of folding utility blades.
Spend your cash on something cool, and know that you made the correct choice. :)
Ever thought he is just another knife nut down on his luck?

I got a lot of use out of my Gerber EAB Utility, when I worked in a warehouse and just needed a tiny, inexpensive slicer. I'm not going to use it like a more robust knife and it's also likely the only Gerber I'll ever buy in this lifetime, unless I use a time machine to go back to the early 1980s.

I used to volunteer at the food bank, where produce came in triple layer cardboard boxes that had to be cut down so we could reach the food at the bottom. The thinner the blade, the better for this task; thicker blades just take more effort to push through. Hence, the box cutter is the superior knife for this task.

I cut fibre glass enforced flooring products. Thin and replaceable blades is the only way to go if I want the job to be done at the end of the day. Replaceable hook blade in particular works for way longer than it looks.

My sharpening skills suh-huk, so this is an upside. Save the blades and in about a decade, you'll be able to make a pattern-welded knife of your very own.

Except unfortunately, you have to make it using cannister Damascus, and the blade has to be between 11 and 14 inches. It will then be tested in a series of excrutiating challenges, including an antler chop and a seat belt slice. Bladesmiths, you will have three hours, and your time starts....NOW!!!!

I work in retail and I have carried every type of knife or box cutter ever made. This is better than anything I have ever used!!! It is also the best flipper in my collection…so good that I threw my Hinderer XM-18 in the trash. Exceed Designs TiRANT Razor V2 is in my pocket over any knife at work.

I put a milwaukee folding button operated utility knife through its paces back in the day, best 15 dollars I ever spent in this category
Will I spend 50$+ on one? No I'd rather die
Even with Cruwear razors, titanium and marbled carbon fiber button?

There really is an absence in the market for really nice, high-end folding razor knives. There's an overabundance of overpriced RUK-style sliding blade holders but options for folders are pretty limited. Is there anything other than the SE Utilizer or the Tirant Razor?
