Food prep EDC blades.

Nice, this one-time deli man is very impressed. And great stockman--I just read your other thread about it; cool story behind the knife.

Thanks man! I appreciate it. I've been known to turn darn near anything into a sammich or a taco.... This time I just kept it simple and traditional - just ham and veggies.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment on the knife! It's pretty special to me. The thing cuts like a razor, and it's pretty handsome to boot.

No problem--I call 'em as I see 'em... that stockman is a rugged looking knife. Here is how the chicken turned out:

Loving all the classy foodstuffs and fresh preparation guys and gals!
I've been busy with the baby obviously but I haven't neglected to take pics of my culinary exploits these past few days.

First up we have my wife's first home cooked meal out of the hospital and home with the baby.
Don't remember the cut of beef , but it cooked down very tender.
The sweet yellow and red peppers are a a smaller, sweeter variety.
I use mainly coconut oil for cooking and margarine to cover up the flavor when necessary (the wife doesn't care for the taste of coconut in ALL her food).

Then I have my BM 940 helping me chomp some corn on the cob, and then slicing and gutting a couple of the aforementioned sweet peppers with some Twang, my favorite bad habit.

Thanks! It's usually more but she needed to eat lighter those first couple days. I definitely made a trip or two to whataburger in the night to satisfy desires.
We all appreciate the well wishes!
BTW you're in Texas too so I may need a few of those sandwiches pony expressed my way, killer job.

Thanky thanky! They were super good! Might be able to ship em on dry ice!

Good on ya for being a good Daddy and taking care of mama too.

Dude. I recommend considering butter over margarine. It has more flavor and it's WAY better for you. Margarine is really
bad stuff.

Nice looking blade and food! In closing, again, I'M HUNGRY!

Hi Lance,

In my kitchen I use mainly only ktichen knives.
Why? Because these knives can be cleaned well and folders, edc knives and other exotic knives I see here have difficulties with that.

A wooden plate with meat and vegetables. Thats a nono. You should better use separate plates. (Especially for proteinrich meat like chicken and fish)

I see you prepare meat with a knife that is vulnerable to stock bacterias.
Then you put it all in a pan and heat could destroy most bacterias and parasites if that would be on the meat, but you use the same knife again during cooking. (thats a nono)

Then preparing the dishes you use the same knife again. (another nono)
Never heard of cross-contamination?

You really need to read some articles of the do's and donts in the kitchen. Be wise.

Especially because you have a mother from hospital and a baby in the house.

^^^Do you honestly feel the need to go poop on all the top threads? Thats a "nono" in my book....

Buddy I've worked in a professional restaurant for the past four years.
Working my way from a server to a now salary manager at the age of 21.
I've been trained and certified by the state of Texas in food safety and proper food preparation.
More than once. Did you ever once think I may have sanitized the utensils being used throughout the process?
Like AntDog said, take your negativity elsewhere.
It's not welcome in my thread.
If you had read earlier you'd have noticed I mentioned to another poster how them using their kitchen knives was a personal preference that they were more than welcome to. That individual may not have agreed with my ideals or views but they respectfully refrained from raining on the parade.

Plus just think maybe I will get sick, croak, and you can see your bladeforums virginized once again without my defamation of folders and quality fixed blades you deem " improper" for this use.

My piece is said. Good day, I said good day!

Dude! BTW do you not see that the meat was never even cut.
The knife was only even used for the peppers and coconut oil.
I was so worked up I barely realized myself.
(Edited)-> Let's all just remember the golden rule , do unto others as you'd have them do to you.
Essentially my point is let us have our fun while you keep all your pretty knives pretty, someone has to go it anyway.
I hope maybe one day you could contribute a picture or a post including you preparing food with your preferred blade.

Lance, I think duder is off his meds or something..... Or on some really good ones.... He's been sprinkling poo, or just downright bizarre stuff that makes no sense on most of the more active threads.

Take it with a grain of salt bro.

How are baby and mama doing?

Everything going great, tonight is my last night on vacation so it's back to the "grind" tomorrow lol.
Pretty surprised at how uncool I feel with leaving them, even for half a day.
Probably had something to do with my uber-defensive response earlier.
But all is well in my neck of the flat, flat land.
How about you and yours?

I'll have some fresh pics in the afternoon to keep us on topic!

Excellent, just keep on keepin on... Don't worry, new mommies are the most careful mommies there are!

Everything's fine for me. Doing well, family is great, I'm blessed!

Be sure to post more foodstuffs, and we'll all do the same. Update inbound tomorrow.

Wow thanks! That really was an Informative, positive, forward thinking, community minded post we need more of around here. I'll definitely take your advice, especially bring at a higher risk for heart disease myself.

Glad you got something out of that. Dr. Mercola rocks for all things health related. I read that myself and it motivated me to eat more butter! I tend to not use that much of it out of habit, but sheesh, it sounds like a health food eh? There is a lot of misinformation out there re: nutrition that the FDA has perpetuated.

Back on topic...I may not CUT my butter with my EDC just to save the washing...

Here's to healthy babies and good food - cheers!

I've used my Spyderco Salt more than any other folder for food prep. I can rinse it off and throw it back in my pocket without worrying abut rust. It's just convenient. Spyderco's hollow grind works wonders.
