For Anyone Who Is Negative About Benchmade

There are two problems with Benchmade knives...
1) They are made in the wrong country (should be Canada, not the USA ;) )
2) They don't send me any free knives, ever. Not even once. Boo!!!

Other than that, I have no complaints about them.

The disdain has less to do with their product and service and more to do with their political leanings.

If you swing to the left, you are probably very happy, to the right, not so much.

Large, locking blades have more right appeal than left appeal. Benchmade seemed to shat where they ate in my opinion.

Social virtue signaling, while they think it's great PR, usually doesn't work out that way. Ask Dick's and Field and Stream.

Well the logo is a butterfly... now you really know why

I can support anyone who doesn’t like Benchmade due to adverse personal experience with a knife or support for a knife. Who am I to pass judgement or dismiss actual life experience?

Personally, I’ve had a mostly great experience with Benchmade for about 40 different knives, but I have to honor what detractors say they’ve experienced with Benchmade QC or service.

What I get a good chuckle over are those who decry Benchmade for a political issue.

Really?

Your big soapbox against Benchmade spawns from a PERCEIVED slight to your 2A rights? Is that the “hill” you choose to die on?

I own firearms and support the right to own them but you’re missing a much bigger picture. Where do you buy your gasoline? Where do you bank? Where do you buy your groceries? Who insures your car/home? Which credit cards do you use? Who do you choose for cable/internet?

Unless you can answer those questions (and more) with a definitive answer and a definitive why, you really just need to shut up over this minor tempest in a teapot of Benchmade supporting a local LEO. There are WAY bigger isssues than this to soapbox over.

Benchmade and Knife Rights needs our support now more than ever. Get Woke and understand what’s really going on around you. Stop spending your blood and energy on a meaningless venture.

Now, to end up “on topic”, my experience with Benchmade has been overwhelmingly positive with the exception of a 300-1 that was really a steaming pile of crap.

I sent my crooked river in to get a blue backspacer and pivot collar, left my contact info to call id charge it when it was done. UPS just dropped this off, they did not charge for the parts or return shipping. It was also lubed and sharpened . I am blown away by this kind of service.Got to give them credit for this

Of course they sharpened it. They'd have to after using it to chop up all our second ammendment rights. :D

In addition to destroying guns, check out their donations to Democrats. That to me speaks volumes about their leanings more so than their "supporting local LEO".

Ultimately, they make a good product and seem to stand behind it. They can support what they want to, and I can do the same.

Support the company or do not, they will survive either way. My money will just go elsewhere.

You need a larger understanding of Oregon politics. A Moderate Democrat IS a Conservative in that market.

Anyway, it is what it is. I’ve got too many other things to do than get drawn into a political argument where it doesn’t belong. Go back and read my post and answer to all the other places you spend your money.

Personally I enjoy your contributions to this forum, Peace Brother!

The whole boycott Benchmade over the gun thing is perplexing to me. I guess everyone that is bent out of shape better look around their house and start throwing out all the stuff made in china because Im pretty sure they dont support gun rights there.
They just don't care, so they're neutral. I don't get why someone has to "hate China" to love freedom.

I'm just guessing here, but the Constitution is more of a USA thing than a China thing..... hell, it even applies in Oregon so far as I know.

Not sure if you took it as I hate china. I dont its their country to do what they will. I buy/support them whenever it is best for my needs. If the people there dont like how its going they can do what we did and change it.

Change it? It’s not that simple like changing a pair of socks.
Besides the Chinese are pretty patriotic and quality of life is surprisingly good

There's no way a conservative actually gets elected in their neck of the woods. Why bribe a politician who won't get into office? I'd "donate" to the Democrats too if I were them.

I don't really care what their political leanings are. They're an American company who employs American workers to manufacture quality knives in America... Sounds pretty good to me. There are certainly alternatives though, even domestically. To each their own. (I do own WAY more Spydercos though.)

I live within half hour of ZT and Benchmade so Im probably more inclined to support them than a lot of people. like TLE says they employ a lot of families around here.

I always preferred Spyderco over Benchmade myself too. They are my most widely supported brand by far.
