It was an "American Blade Collectors" club knife, made in Japan as brownshoe mentioned. It's not too bad under normal use, but if you were really bearing down on a cut it would be quite a hotspot (the lockbar).

I just saw this and reminded me of a day I was ginseng hunting. I ran upon a large pawpaw patch and there was a terrapin with all four legs completely outstretched. His neck and head looked totally extended too and his or her eyes were kinda glazed over. It looked as if it had just had the greatest sensual experience of it’s lifetime. It liked really pawpaws I guess.

Interesting that you should mention that Lyle. The photo was taken below a large persimmon tree. On several occasions over the years I have observed and even photographed turtles mating there but only during the fall while the ripe fruit is on the ground.
