for winter, what Buck ya carrying and how cold is it...

The mercury is dropping like a stone now that the latest blizzard has passed through. It will be -40° in the morning which would usually mean that I'd be packing something with G10 scales but I'll be carring this new-to-me 560 blackout combo on the belt for the remainder of the week.

Thank you DOGPOUND77 DOGPOUND77 for another great knife!

nice 560 there Jeff. black paints in great shape too. nice example for your collection.

and......

stay warm there in frostbite in minutes valley. negative 40 yikes 😬.....

I don't think the Spring and Summer is worth staying there in the Winter..

It's 7 degrees, snowing and blowing and that's what I'm afraid of! I opened the door this AM to let Dutch out, he saw this and wouldn't go out! Wuss that he is

It was barely low 30s the other couple nights and I was whining like a baby. my fan shaft on my outdoor heat pump was rusted up and squealing and I turned it off so neighbors didn't have to suffer all night....and went to emergency electric heat strip heat...not cheap but i didn't care. it only got to maybe 70 inside...but I was cold and didn't want to put another sweater on.

next day I fixed it after work in the dark. got it freed up and running again. had my boy help and that was good he learned a bit about air conditioners and how they work.

when I think of frostbite in minutes valley where Jeff lives...life and death without enough heat. he's a lot tougher than me....and bigger hands...... Canadian hockey player man sized hands compard to my little girl sized hands.....so he can handle that kills stuff dead kinda cold.😁

nice 79f today. Buck today on my belt...

It changed from rain to snow about dawn.
I last measured 9 inches a few hours ago.
It's about 30 degrees, it's actually a beautiful day!
Wind finally picked up, which is good as the snow was sticking to the trees more than what's safe.
The dogs almost prefer the cold.

I've got a Sprint Pro in my pocket.

But I've been playing with these🙂.

btw, that love is for the knives and pics of the Dawgs. not for the cold weather with rain, snow and ice there......

It's hit almost 80% today near Ocala and I had the airconditing on in the car. Minus 30 40 or 50 below zero absolutely is dangerous. But I remember the blizzard of 1966 in northern Virginia and how incredibly high some of the snow drifts were! David and I tunneled under one at least 15 ' on the side of a building..Had a old 112 LT in my pocket today..

That blizzard of '66 was a big one here as well. Just before my time but I've heard relatives talk about it like it was the "Big One".

We just slipped below -50°F with the windchill so I'm glad to finally be in off the highway. Looking at another 250 miles tomorrow so I may pack the 110 TRX along with the 560.

It's funny here in Florida on the first few cold days you see lots of people wear heavy coats and hats (but seldom gloves) that they brought with them from up North..The thing I hated most about winter weather was slipping on ice and snow. And when I was younger the salt that would rust out your car.
