for winter, what Buck ya carrying and how cold is it...

We're having typically weird Indiana weather. Last Monday it was in the 20s F and we got two inches of snow, but it was in the 80s by the end of the week. Now we're back in the 50s F for the rest of this week for highs. The repetitive dropping below freezing and then going into the 60s or higher in 24 hours wreaks havoc on the roads, but that's how it goes here.

Fortunately, I've been carrying the Buck 112 LT, which doesn't care about weather.

21°F and sunny this morning. We escaped the latest storm by a few miles. Very little snow but lots of freezing rain. Communities to the west and north are still without power but should be restored soon.
First official day of retirement.

Congratulations Jeff.
As soon as I get the house paid off I'm going too! It's the health care premium that keeps me working. I gotta pay for it at retirement.

Congrats on retirement. I am jealous. I have a few years to go but count down every day until it happens.

Congratulations Jeff.

I'm going to have to pay for extended health coverage as well and I'm also in the market for a nice little 19' travel trailer. We've got plans to travel the U.S.A in the coming years and see all of those amazing national parks of yours. I'm hoping for a nice little warehouse job that I can work a few days per week. Ooh, there is also this little Buck addiction that's going to required some funding...

I remember 17, it seemed like forever but the years started to fly by and now I could swear it was yesterday. Try your best to enjoy the time along the way.

Dinner sounds great but I'd be honored if you'd show me the finer points of harvesting and enjoying Florida sugar cane.

Congratulations Jeff ! Enjoy your retirement and those Buck knives!

Retirement sounds good and I’ve been considering a talk with a retirement specialist planner myself. I’m still 5 years from full retirement age but I’m hoping I can swing it in my favor to take it early. There’s some things I’d like to do before I’m not as able to as I’ve seen other fellas wait till full retirement and then their health and mobility limits what they can do.

yes Sir. late Oct thru December is harvest time. this year's crop gonna be smaller....not much rain yet and I've been lazy on replanting. we got a state park stone throw from me...well 2 of them. when ya get to that point, let me know and we'll coordinate to your schedule.

I was in the same boat. Age 62 would have been financially sound but my father was diagnosed with cancer at 56 and my mother passed from cancer at 74. I decided to go now on a reduced income but supplement that with part-time employment when necessary.

Jeff, congratulations! Hope you get a chance to use your Buck knives camping in our national parks soon. Sounds like a great plan for retirement!
Thank you! I have a list of destinations a mile long and a few Bucks to test out. One of my first stops will be Yellowstone where I plan to sit by the fire and learn how to whittle with a 301.
