for winter, what Buck ya carrying and how cold is it...

Our overnight low was - 9° around 1 am and warmed up to 0° by 8 am. Yesterday we received 3” of snow and stayed clear overnight. Today we got above freezing to 37° so it melted a lot of the snow and I have been carrying my 501 Larrin and staying mostly indoors to keep warm.

Somehow I must have launched another reply so I won’t waste it.

I sure will be glad when it warms up a bit. I never have liked the bitter cold and have only grown more intolerant of the deep freeze the older I get but at least I’m retired now and don’t have to go out to work in it to thaw frozen pipes and equipment.

My other using knife lately has been a 112 and growing fond of it.

I believe it will break records kept since 1895 for snow in Florida from this storm.. West of Ocala it's 34 wet and windy. I'm using a 110 today.
My brother lives in Hudson, about 35 miles north of Tampa. Last night I texted him a screen shot of our -14 degree weather report from yesterday, and said that I hear you may be getting some Winter weather down there. He texted me back & said it was 45 degrees then & it was supposed to get down into the mid 30s.

We're up to a balmy -4 degrees now. I was outside with the dog for a while, and to tell the truth, I can't tell any difference between today & the -14 of yesterday.:)

Wake County NC, 24F at 10:40am, sunny now with about 2.5" of snow on the ground from last nights snow event.

10°F here in Manitoba today.

Receiving snowfall is one thing but the melt-off is another. I hope that your storm drains can handle it 🤞
I hope the roof can handle it.
I don't know how much snow load southern roofs are engineered to take, but I'd at least be clearing the snow off the eves to prevent ice dams and not have water back-ups and roof leaks.

I worked on the RDU airport expansion years ago and wonder just how much load that roof can take.
180 ft clear span with some of the roof panels nearing 400 ft in length.
Sure they get snow in NC, but that's a big roof.

Our son moved from Hershey, PA down to Hemmingway, SC a couple years ago. He said they got 6" of snow. Their county has three snow plows, but not much experience. They knocked down his mailbox on their first pass. The granddaughter just turned 21 & she's teaching her boyfriend & his parents how to drive in the snow. Now that's scary!:)

yes this^ they aren't built for ice dam potential and that kinda weight. few inches okay I'd think but get to foot plus I'd be up there pushing it off.....
