fort turner is a scam

Damn shame really, I've got two of his Hawks and they are excellent. I did however buy them on the secondary market. After seeing all the bad reviews on his business practices I'd never buy direct from him.
 
Damn, I can't believe he is still taking orders. I would have figured the state would have shut him down by now. I feel fortunate that I received my order after around a 4 month wait seeing that people that have been waiting for years. I emailed and advised him I was filing a dispute with my VISA. He called me within minutes and promised he would have my order within 4 weeks. I told him that is the longest I would wait as I couldn't go past the deadline to file the dispute with my CC. I had the order on time. He was a nice enough guy on the phone, but no one should run a business the way he does. He should be shut down by the state, there is a reason for consumer protection laws.

I did file a complaint with the BBB. Months ago.

I still do not have the tomahawk I ordered TWO YEARS AGO.

That's the thing that makes me furious about this. The blatant dishonesty.

If he's having health problems, well ok. That's nobody's fault and it can't be helped... BUT! He should not be lying and promising to ship merchandise
that people had already paid for under the FALSE promise of a wait of about 8 weeks. IMO if he unable to produce what he is selling, then he should
stop taking orders altogether until all prior orders are filled and shipped.

And if he can't fill those orders, there should be full refunds IMMEDIATELY.

But that's not what he's doing.

Been waiting for 121 weeks for mine.

He still says you'll be waiting "about 8 weeks" if you order something from his site.

BIG difference between 8 weeks and 121 weeks.

Do a search, you are not alone.
1. Call the credit card company, bank, paypal, etc and get your koney back.
2. Research before buying, read reviews, use google, etc.
 
wow ft turner comes up with some frequency all over the fourms....I don't come here often but......I do have a Ft. Turner Poled Iroquois Hawk. The Hawk in an of itself is fine for the price paid. I did change the handle to a French style handle from house handle.....customer service and wait times have a lot to be desired....It has been several years now but I see that things have not changed......I would not buy another Ft. Turner Hawk based on customer service and wait times....lots of good and great hawk makers out there who will do what they say in the time that they say and stand behind their product..... research and beware.....
 
I ordered several hawks from Fort Turner more than two years ago. I have called Dana so many times. Last time I talked with him, he cursed me out for bothering him. I threatened to sue him in court. He told me he would sue me. For what I don't know. None the less, I am making it my job to inform people of this scam he is got going on. He does not deliver as promised. Yes, you have to pay up front. I have called him many, many times. I have been more than polite to him also. He gave me many excuses. First excuse I got from him was, "I just don't know why I can not get this order done. It must be because you ordered more than one style." Those were his words. Then he told me that he made my order and they cracked in heat treat. When I called and was asking over and over again when it would ship. He told me that he was disabled and I am being disrespectful because of his disability. He told his machine of some kind was broken. I was trying to be understandable. Well several months past and no order. I called several times again and have sent close to 50 emails to him. At the time there was a Facebook page about how he was ripping people off. I went on there and told my story. He got mad and cursed me out. I told him that it has been more than 2 years and I would happily remove it all if he just shipped my order. Nothing but rudeness and cursing from him. I got this email from him in Aug 2014, 11 months after my order. """Hi Larry , I apologize for the wait , As you know I’ve had major medical problems , but I’m back at it , just much slower , I’ve pulled your order & working on it & will ship shortly. Thank you for your patience , Dana."" still no order. Well here we are another year has passed and nothing. I have been busy lately so I let the course case pass. I will be filing the case while on Christmas break. I am really done with this guy. He is rude, unprofessional and just a plain bad business man. It is sad he is acting like that.
 
They charged your card $307.64 in 2013, and have not delivered?
Correct, after many many emails and phone calls I have gotten nothing. Well he did curse me out on the phone for bothering him. I complained about him on a public forum (Facebook) and he saw the complaint. Told me it was unwarranted. This was around 18 months after my order was placed by the way.
 
After reading fort turner's BBB page it seems that the only way to get an order completed is to file a complaint with the BBB.
