Fort Turner pics please

Still waiting for my Fort Turner polled iroquois. Ordered in January, hoping it will come in soon. Not to bring up an old thread, but does anyone have any pics of the polled iroquois? Help a brother out; I need my tomahawk fix :)
 
Got an email from Dana yesterday. He has had medical issues; says he has been down but not out.
He's hoping to finish my camp hawk & sheath, on order since mid-January soon.
Gotta' give him credit . . . he's still trying!
Wishing him a quick recovery! :thumbup:

Yikes, that sucks to hear! He made no mention when I last talked to him! I hope the man's doing alright! Shouldn't work yourself to death! I'll be praying he has a speedy recovery.
 
Dropped Dana a line and he basically told me the same thing. When he gets to it, he gets to it. I'm not in any hurry now that I got my Kangee to play with.
 
I'm getting tired of waiting on my Camp Hawk, sheath and extra handle. Placed the order on January 17. Approaching three months now and all I can learn is that Dana has had health problems. Hope he's feeling better, but I need my stuff!

Anyone out there who has received anything from Ft Turner lately?

Have considered initiating a refund request with my CC company. Don't want to do that if the merchandise will be shipped in the near future but I cannot even get an estimated shipping date from Ft Turner.

Another alternative is to go to Good, Bad & Ugly. Really hate to do that but may be necessary if I don't hear some positive news in the very near future. :(
 
6 Months is the norm that's how long i waited last year with his health issues must be backed up big time. He's a stand up guy he will make it right.

I have a RR Spike tomahawk on order from him. I have been waiting a few weeks. Not as long as you have been waiting for sure. He posted on the FT site that he's backlogged about eight weeks as of March so I'm not going to fret about it until week 9 of my wait. If he gets it to me sooner it will be a pleasant surprise. If I absolutely *need* a tomahawk until then, good thing I have a small collection of them, including an ATC version of the one I am waiting for.

I wish Mr Turner the best and hope he's back on top again soon. His tomahawks are my favorite.

I know I'm bringing up an old thread. It's just been forever. Almost in Month 7 now, and still no word on my hawk. The site says an 8-week backlog as of march, but it's been past that and still nothing.

I've heard everywhere that Dana is a good guy, and I believe it. I'm sure it'll get here eventually, but this is just dragging on forever.

Has anyone got anything from FT Turner recently? And I wouldn't mind if anyone posted more pics!
 
After six months of waiting, I contacted Visa and got a credit to my account for the price of the hawk I had ordered from Ft Turner on January 17.

Ordered a similar hawk from Ragweed Forge and got it in four days. And at 1/3 the price.

Good customer service from Ragweed!
 
I think it's a good thing this thread keeps coming up if he can't fill his orders he should at least let people know . There's many other makers out there who won't make you wait this long or if they do at least they let you know what's up. Just hoping when you guys get yours they don't have heat treatment problems and you have to send them back like I had to do with mine .
 
When (I fear to say "if") I get my tomahawk, I wouldn't bother sending it back for that if such were the case. After this long of a wait, seems a waste of time.
And honestly, if I wait for 7 freakin months for this thing and it comes flawed, well, lesson learned.
I don't mean to sound bitter. Again, everything I hear about Dana and his hawks are good. But this is my first purchase with Fort Turner, and this is RIDICULOUS. The site has given two different wait times, and I've gone FAR past them both. The ONLY time I hear from Dana is when I email him, and the last time was to send him my change in address. I've gotten absolutely zero word on my actual order.

My money went out the day I ordered. Well? Where's my money's worth? I could have gotten a low budget Cold Steel Frontier and MADE it the Iroquois style by now.
I literally have a bag of customizing supplies on my desk, waiting to use on my tomahawk. It's been sitting there for 3 months now.

Ugh, sorry for the rant, this is just really frustrating. I've been patient for over half of a year now. When I spend a hundred dollars out of my very meager budget, I'd like some satisfaction.
 
I wonder if it's too late to ask for a refund and invest in an H&B Forge Shawnee Hawk. They look nice, handmade, have great reviews, and are half the price.

What do you guys think? Should I wait it out?
 
To be honest if you buy a Cold Steel wouldn't be that far off from what your gonna get from Dana I sold mine not long after I got it he over tempered the edge couldn't get it sharp with a brand new File . To be fair he did fix it but I don't think I will ever waste my time with his hawks ever again . You should be frustrated when he says a month and it turns into 6 with no comms not good . Good luck to you.
 
Call him or send him an Email tell him if he can't give you a definite delivery time or cancel your order. That's what I would do now I have no idea what's going on with him heard a while back he was sick but he is still taking orders so must not be too serious but I can't say for sure.
 
Don't own a H B but have heard nothing but good things about there hawks that Shawnee looks like one I might get myself.

I'm not normally a patient man, I'll admit. But waiting 7 months is PRETTY DARN PATIENT of me.
If I do seek a refund, I'll go for the HB Shawnee.
Legion, thanks so much for the support brother. I've looked up some recent reviews, and it looks like Fort Turner ain't doing so hot with it's customers...

I was very patient to was very exited when i got mine until i saw the edge that was it for me somewhere here there is a thread on the whole episode and i wasnt the only one . Dont forget about Coal Creek some quality hawks being made there and a great guy to deal with . We gotta stick together my friend best of luck to you.
