• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Forum Knife Updates and comments

8 weeks out should have them here in time for my anniversary -- with a little luck, SWMBO will claim this as my gift to her -- with a lot of luck, she'll claim it as her gift to me!

In addition to the two forum knives I ordered, I've got four others pre-paid as well. All six are scheduled for an October-ish delivery. It's going to be a long couple of months, but once the shipping notices start hitting my inbox, it's going to be like Christmas came early!

people worried about thick vs thin elk scales? ... I would expect they would all be the same thickness due to the bolsters right? surely they will be flush?

Yeah, wouldn't have occurred to me to ask about that. Ain't gonna sweat it. I trust Buck.

I think people are a little worried because it's antler material like stag. Stag can be very thick in some cases due to the way the antlers curve and the way the material needs to be cut. The knife below is a Schatt & Morgan but it's the only reasonable example I have. The knife actually has a fantastic feel in the hand. It's Red Elk Antler.

Who's going to see the first production one? Or who is going to get the first?:D

Reminds me of the electric scene in the film of Moby Dick, where Gregory Peck as Capt.Ahab nails up a gold ounce Doubloon on the mast for the first man who spots the White Whale.... "It's a White whale I say!" All made of Elk scales..or is it whalebone?;)
