The 301 is one good looking knife. It's on my short list.Every time I see this thread bumped to the top I get all excited hoping it's some new WIP photos. So...I decided to dig this 301 out and plunk it in the pocket to try it on for size. Can't wait for the new one!

I can see how one might see a crinkled up old boot...but, Buck moved to Idaho during 2004 and in 2005 used the outline of the state as their tang stamp date mark. PrestonIdaho?!?! I thought it was a boot.![]()

Some people need glasses....A recent GEC 14 release in Greenbone had a boot as a shield, maybe that was homage to Idaho?

Very Cool ! In another week or so we'll probably be grabbing them out of the mailbox.I'm hoping to have some more pictures next week. Hengem won't be back to the factory until Monday, so we are all on the "waiting patiently" list.
That's a 303. The forum knife is a 301, hence a little bigger. Also, it won't have the castrator blade. Clip on one end, and sheepsfoot opposite. But I expect it will look similar to the picture you posted. Will there be any smilarity betseen the 2018 BF knife and the March Special Buck?

Oh man, the hype is real, isn't it? I would advise you guys to temper your expectations though. End of October was mentioned as an absolute best case scenario IIRC. Don't be surprised (or disappointed) if it takes a little longer. Besides, no one want this to be a rush-job, do they?
The word on the street is that production will be complete Mid to End of October. I'd hope for the former and lean on the latter.
