Forum Knife Updates and comments

I heard a rumor from a guy that was banned from the forum for flipping slip joints, that they finished the knives, they were perfect, except they had grooved bolsters, and so they scrapped the entire lot due to this hideous defect, and are working extra hard to finish the corrected plain bolster batch before Halloween.

Seriously, this is major secret inside info. A college buddy says they tossed the defective knives into a big swirling hole on the St. Joe River.

Is it time to unleash The Rumour Mill ??:D:D:cool:

Good riddance, I say, cause we voted against those ghastly grooves!

Grooved bolsters hideous - I think not. The first 301 was made with grooved bolsters under Schrade contract.

All joking aside, Buck seldom if ever scraps its mistakes. They put them in their factory store and local Buck Forum members buy them up and recycle them to other folks. You would see a FB stamped on the box.

It was announced in the Buck Forum that the Traditional Forum knife was being offered and I know several folks signed up for them.....If that groove rumor was true, you likely would see the 'groovies" someday floating on the Bay. That is if it wasn't a joke.

Don't freak out, I am just making wild conversation. 300Bucks

From the first step thread:

(to remind myself)

I like this -

“What you get:
A knife from the Buck Custom Shop:
  • A 2 Bladed Buck 301, Clip and Sheepsfoot on opposite ends of the knife.
  • Blade steel is CPM-154
  • Both blades have Full Flat Grind and long pulls.
  • Bolsters are plain NICKEL SILVER.
  • Handle material is ELK and this knife will have PINS.
  • Knife will have a tang stamp
  • It will come in a plain cardboard box.”

Okay, I've got some more updates from Buck. The current completion estimate is 3 weeks out. Parts are currently running through the shop for the knife. To ease the sting of this timeline adjustment, I have some more photos for you!
The stamp is not current and the coloration in the pull will be removed.
