Fourboysplus is a horrible seller, sent bad knife and will not take it back

Once you've tinkered with the item, it is yours.

Yep. They 'bought' it when the decided to disassemble the product. Now it's their responsibility, if they wish, to get it repaired.

From the maker's website (translated from Russian):

8. Is there a guarantee on your knives?
Our knives extend "lifetime" guarantee. Any manufacturing defect is corrected under warranty. We reserve the right to refuse warranty if intervention in the design of the knife.

Perhaps it could be sent to Russia for repair by the original maker?

When Selling I ask- Please let me know when the knife arrives safely and meets your expectations.

As a Buyer I inspect the knife immediately and let the Seller know if it is acceptable.

Then I spend the money or tinker with the knife.

Both guys go to my ignore list- it's a hobby and isn't worth the hassle.

This is by far, thee most perfectly stated response in relation to this thread/situation. I have deleted both this buyer, & seller! Fourboysplus is getting off to a wonderful start with his second account; 2 negative GBU posts in 2 weeks...

As mods, Spark has entrusted us with this area. We have some leeway in how we do things, as well as discussions not viewable by the public community on how we are to handle these things. We do know who and why the other account was banned, as such if we wanted it to be made public everyone would already know why. We do not put all our cards out on the table.

This is exactly the way it should be. You guys are privy to info that the rank and file are not privy to. You make your decisions based on a totality of info and try to give privacy to those parties when possible.

Good, solid, moderating practices. :)

To the OP, have you tried relubing not only the washers but also the detente ball? From what I understand, you disassembled the knife and cleaned it out, presumably cleaning out any lubrication that was present as well. Since the Shirogorov is riding on washers, it shouldn't be too difficult to put back together so I doubt there was an error in reassembly. If you overlooked lubing the detente ball it can drastically affect the action.

i personally feel that a deal isn't done until both sides are happy. The only way around this is if the knife is admittedly tinkered with, taken apart, modified, or otherwise messed with...... in this case the sale is over.

you admitted to taking the knife apart...... fourboyplus has been responsive throughout this whole thread and clearly not running away from anything. The knife is yours and I feel that if you pursue this issue through a paypal dispute after you took the knife apart that it is in fact you who we should be worried about doing business with from this point forward.

It does tell us how little you've been active here, and where you've "contributed" over the last two years...

Also, it's interesting that you've only left positive feedback for one of your 11 buyers that make up your 100% positive rating here.

I'm one of the 11 buyers that's still waiting for feedback. I don't understand people that don't return feedback. Why be one sided? Being new to the Exchange forum, getting feedback is desired to establish reputation. When it's not returned, it really burns me up. If I could remove the feedback I left for Fourboysplus, then I would, especially since I sent him an email as a reminder requesting him to do so.
Now, having said that, in the recent deal I had with him in which I purchased a knife, I cannot complain about the transaction. Everything was as described, with no problems or complaints.
As for this thread, I hope an acceptable solution can be found to resolve the situation to the satisfaction of both parties.

I didn't read the whole entire thing.... but here's my big 0.02 cent.

If you had an issue with the knife right when you got it, that's when you can make a dispute and request for a return if you're not satisfied. But if you TOOK IT APART and tried to fiddle with it..... that's the point of no return.

If I was the seller there is NO FREAKING WAY I would take the knife back. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't understand why people feel the need to take a knife apart within the first minute of getting it. I think on the first page somebody said something about you being an engineer? Those guys are the worse offenders as they always feel compelled to take stuff apart to see "how it works".

IMO you own the knife now 100%.

I couldn't agree with you more! I would have well over 100 + transactions, if not for the rude, lazy, grossly inconsiderate member's who accepted my $$$ for their knives, & my positive feedback.

Fourboysplus shouldn't be allowed to be on this forum, with his negative history, irrespective of whether the he was right, or wrong in this instance. BF, needs to do a better job of cleaning house, with member's like this!

Please feel free to chime in on this, & all of the other negative crap you have brought to BladeForums, Fourboysplus. We're waiting, Chad!

There are two separate issues here:

1. The knife itself - Sorry buyer, but taking apart a "defective" knife is an instant no-go. Especially a $700 one. I have to side with the seller on this and everything else is extraneous at this point.

2. If someone is banned for multiple accounts and not bad behavior, I'm not going to get my panties in a wad if they come back under a single account and use that from that point forward. If it's a pattern where they habitually use multiple accounts, that's another matter. Stuff like that needs to be taken elsewhere though.

Looks like the boss man spoke, should be the end to this thread. Not often Spark comments when he does folks should listen!

Are you freaking serious? You want to ban people for not leaving feedback? That's insane. Last I checked feedback was not mandatory.

I for one will not deal with someone who does not have the common decency to return a feedback when given one, it just shows a lack of character Imo.....

And to do it in 10 out of 11 deals is just plain ignorant!

I am VERY sorry for not leaving you feedback, my mistake and I do recall you sending me an email reminding me to do so, again my mistake. I have left feedback for you.
