Fox River Magnum Passaround

Hi Guys,

Here's a couple pictures of the magnum and regular fox river in comparison. the video at the end is a summary review of my thoughts on the knife.

In short, it's a kickass knife. I was really impressed with the fit and finish and the heft was perfect. I forsee one in my future...:)

Here's the video I promised. I missaid a few things: the magnum is the second or third BARK river in 12C27 I handled, not FOX river.

great vid and pics brett. i liked the comparisons you did. looks like an awsome knife. i can hardly wait till monday when it hopefully arrives. glad to see that you braved the 110 degree OK weather to get out and use it.

How do you guys like the handle angle? It is more straight on the Magnum and more canted on the original. It also looks like on the original that the edge leads a bit more aggressively immediately forward of your hand.

thanks,

I have to get one or the other now

I think the angle is about the same. They're both great.

Yall don't need to do that, If the sheath still holds the knife it will work fine. A lil character won't bother me!;)

Thanks for the gesture though Brett.

It had to be Brian, he's a lil clumsy:D

It was me, and I forgot about it, but I'm taking care of the new sheath.:D That knife was scary sharp!

alright, its picture time.

got this in the mail a monday and didnt get to use it tuesday (school till 4pm and then work till 7:30 then homework, you know how it goes) but today i got it outside and WOW. this is the first bark river i have ever gotten to use, so it greatly exceded my expectations. overall, awome knife, you got a good one headed your way tony. when funds allow, i will buy a bark river of some kind. anyway, the pics:

first off, i did a bit of chopping. the magnum was a really great chopper with its weight and length.

then i did some of the smaller outdoor knife tasks ( i did some fuzz sticks too but the pictures wouldnt load) here are some trap components i carved with it (the trap involved notches and some drilling which isnt seen in the picture):

i was, from the first time brian posted a picture of the magnum, skeptical about the micarta handles. so, to test them, i submerged mu hand and the knife in water before some more chopping.

it worked well:

absolutely fantastic review man! That's really nice.

Just so you guys know, I'm gonna pass this passaround back to brian. I need to take a break as my job has really gotten hectic.

Thanks again for all your wonderful reviews!

I can't wait to get this knife. I'm all the way at the back of the pack though so it will be a while till I get my hands on this beauty!

okay, i shipped the knife out today and now i need to send the information to someone but i dont know who that is supposed to be. Answers please. :D

hey guys. Well, after talking to Brian, I'm gonna step back in as 'mod' of this passaround. Work has been overwhelming but I just refuse to let it bump out completely the things I love.

so, let's get it on...:D
