Freerk Wieringa Commissioned Bowie - Whole Process w/pics and vid

That bowie looks nice Congrats and boy does he have some equipment and seems to know what he's doing for sure. I really like the fact that it is a full tang forged bowie as most forged knives I've seen have a stick tang or frame handle. The only thing I would have wanted would have been a distal taper to it. I like the bluing he did to it also. That knife is a beast what are your plans for it?

Yes, I’d recommend ordering before he gets too popular which I’m sure will be any month now. He’s getting a lot of hits on social media.

Unfortunately, he does not do the sheaths. I am using Horsewright or leatherman from here for the sheath.

My plans are to use it heavily and often. I always wanted a full tang monster bowie (I, like you, do not like stick tangs). Figured custom was my only route to get what I wanted. I also wanted it large like the old Bowies I had seen in movies etc with a tough carbon steel for rough use. This should work great. I will bring it for camp stuff, roughing around, and eventual big game hunts because I don’t mind the weight of blades (thanks military).

Another cool thing about you getting that beast is you will always have a Wip video of him making that knife from start to finish. I would go post it in the custom forum under show me your camp knife chopper thread when you get it.
