work tough gear isn’t bad. However, they certainly don’t have warranty nearly as good as busse, that doesn’t stand as a sign of confidence to me.
I have seen alot( they sell them domestically mostly) of Chinese counterfeits using A8(K329) which is suggested by some as very close to INFI,(I think they lack the critical nitrogen), their performance are very poor due to poor heat treat( dents severly on nails). So, before a recent non-fluke busse is tested( I think V Vlad22 has done very well), so uh, a non-fluke AFBM is tested via destruction, and scientifically compared with a WTG similar design on K329, I wouldn’t assume anything.
Yet, by design, DT-12 is definitely more funtional than ARES(tooooo heavy and obtuse)

No one has Busses warranty. Most chinese knives claiming A8mod, can be any steel. They literally do not care what they sell you because you will never collect your money back on their fakes. I guaranty you no chinese company is using bohler k329 when they have their own foundrys in the country. China copies everything made around the world including BMW's. Their lack of moral character means they could give a flying F what you think once the money is in their hands.

But work tuff k329 is taiwan made and should not be compared to chinese junk. Taiwan makes excellent knives. The browning crowell barker competition knife to name just one awesome blade made in taiwan. Of course, you will not get the Busse warranty.

judging by the spectral analysis data after 2001, there is no longer nitrogen, cobalt and nickel in INFI (or there is less nickel). Although I know that nitrogen and carbon are difficult to detect, carbon is almost invisible.

umm, I suspect the validity of the so-called “post 2002” test as the machine might not be able to detect nitrogen of such small amount(typical nitrogen steel has <0.20% nitrogen like 14c28n magnacut H1 H2, while Lc200n has quite a bit more— 0.5% )
Without a doubt. The exact same steel used in ergos as the original run, 1% Cobalt which everything after did not have. But I still think even the current line must have Nitrogen and it is very low so it is hard to detect.
Guess if anybody has a piece of INFI, can send it for a chemical analyze which purposely search for nitrogen, then we shall really know

Yessir, Taiwan makes great blades. That's where Spyderco's best blades come from (imo & a lot of other people's too)

Vlad, Great video! I was wondering, how should people test stabbing? I don't have a car to stab, is it mainly by stabbing wood and twisting to test tip strength? 👍🍺
Thank you. I bent the tips on both of my knives, but only if I hammered them in forcibly. I just couldn’t bend them with my hands, even though I was picking at the wood where the knots were.

Yeah, carbon and nitrogen are undetectable with spectrometer. Only chem test can reveal either. And that is costly. Not sure how much that would cost. That would be a good test.

I have tested many of the modern line with the niton xl2 and there is no cobalt or nickel. And there hasn't been since the original FBM line. I posted my first test in 2013 ish comparing the FBM to the SHBM. Regardless, to me the post original run INFI is the mod INFI from the original basics line which also lacked nickel and cobalt.

More than unfair. Do you guys trust him enough to believe he didn’t manipulate the blade before the test ? I don’t.
After seeing all previous testing as well as Vlad22's testing, I have my suspicions.
Plus my own use. It doesn't include destruction testing, but I've only been very satisfied with Bussekin performance.
