Front Flipper Fans?

I don't care how convenient it is. I still think that flipper tab on the KUF v2 is the most ridiculous looking thing on an otherwise nice knife.
It always reminds me of those insta-grow Martians from Loony Toons.

This guy. Yes, I absolutely agree. The KUF V2 was such a good design right up until the flipper tab. Really would have like the tab to just follow the contour of the front of the handle and used some good coarse jimping.

WadeWilson WadeWilson ; wait, are you sure we're talking about the same knife? This one right?

WadeWilson WadeWilson ; lol, you're good. I forgot that ZT did another collab with Emerson.

Yea that ZT 0640 really could have been a pretty decent front flipper if they added jimping to that little protrusion like you said.

I guess I should contribute a picture to this thread.

New convert over here... unfortunately I'm hooked now.

Tis my preferred method of open as of late.

If you get an opportunity, the shamwari is a sweet little blade. 3 inch on washers knocked my sebenzas right into the knife drawer.

I’m still sad the micarta TBK Lexk got away from me. ;) Couldnt have ended up in a better collection! :D
Weird or not haha, you come to mind when I use the micarta m390.

Obviously he started using bigger pivots and that one’s sporting it. I think I prefer it over the smaller five dot one that Trevor and his dad Fred started out with but I still like their look. And on the small five dot pivots, one can get by with only one of his adjuster tools but without a second tool it’s difficult to adjust to the sweet spot.

You got a problem with Loony toons???
;)

How is the action on the Horn ball release, and is it a solid build? I’ve been eyeing them on bladeconnection.

Built solid like a Thorburn. Action is good. It’s a little slick without a pocket clip tho.

I've had a couple of hi-quality ones from South Africa fellows, but finally gave up..
I see no reason to punish myself when my "regular" flippers work so well.

B BBW , that is a nice Custom Lanny's Clip Front Flipper!

Really like how Pena does the escutcheon, not overly simple, but not overly ornate.

Just wish he would find a way to put a milled, deep carry clip on the customs. Maybe have the knife come with a filler tab, as well, so users have the option of going with the clip or without it. Actually now that I think about it, if he had the clip attached at the end of the handle (similar to how the clip is attached on some of Liong Mah's designs: XV; Hawk, Field Duty), that would be pretty clean.

Thanks S Spears ! I really like this guy. It’s a dream (as any custom Peña).
I have had 4 custom Peñas and all have been perfect.
Im 100% sure that Enrique would add a small clip if you want it. I did think about it as well lol

B BBW I would have to get a custom before I do that. Though, haven't really had much luck contacting Peña regarding production stuff.

Which four, if you don't mind me asking?

yeah he doesn’t sell production directly. Follow him on social media and sign up for alerts at different dealers like knifejoy, etc for those

Never heard back from him on a ? about custom knife clip, so it may have nothing to do with production or custom.
Im sure he gets une million messages and emails each day.
Some things could slip through depending which way is sent

Off topic:
I am sure he does, and it is why I said may have nothing to do with, rather than he doesn't answer Messages/Emails.
But the bottom line is I did not get a response. I fully understand the problem these custom makers have handling the volume of messages and still doing work, but when you have thousands of dollars of their work, it would be nice to be able to get hold of them when needed.
but this problem is past. I sold the knife

Back on topic:
I just picked up a Trevor Burger LEXK Plus-smooth as silk.
I seem to be putting all my new money on front flippers
