Todd, even though the Kris design is not my cup of tea, that is some beautiful work!

I see no practical use for this knife but the workmanship is remarkable!

Truthfully, As far as being a my cup of tea or seeing partical uses I agree with you guys a 100% But what interests me most about the kris knife is the history of it. The country of origin escapes me at the moment but the meaning and the way the constuntion of these knives where handled is pretty amazing. They where only to be made by a certain type of blacksmith, at a certain time of the year for the finest warriors. It was said that the smiths even went through a certain type of religious ceremony and fasted for days before the forging could begin. They where awarded to the best warriors not nessessarily as weapons but as a status symbol. It was even said that those who carried such a blade recieved a dirrect connection with God. So, that and the fact that I have seldomly seen many current knifemakers make them, this was a project I wanted to do for myself. Part of the reason it took me so long is I totally "old schooled" this one. This was one I challenged myself on. The blade I ground 100% with hand and file. It never touched a electric grinder. That is also the reason I have only made one to date.:p

It looks almost Persian in design. That is awesome that you really paid tribute to the heritage of the design though. That attention to detail and strictness to "the right thing" is why I'll keep coming back!

Im sorry to tell you this, your brother is a dumbass.

I doubt you would have the balls to say that to his face, of course you would have to go to prison in order to talk to him, but then you would be bleeding out your head like that last man to say something like that to him

Tell me which prison he is in. I'll go tell him.

That vehicle is not made for that. It is a crossover vehicle made for soccer moms hauling their 2.2 children to and from school. If you are going to be driving like that you need to be in something like a subaru or a mitsubishi evolution, or something made for rally driving.

I fully admit when I was younger and I drove like that, I was a dumbass. I thought I was invincible and I knew everything. I lucked out I didn't kill myself. One of the things driving academies have taught me is proper vehicle and proper vehicle maintenance!

Everyone and everything gets on your last nerve. It’s best just to lock yourself in your room during this stage.

He was 18, i was 15... we were young and he was driving like a teenager that just got his license.

But right now he is in Fayette Prison, a maximum security prison in PA, feel free to go tell him that but i dont suggest it, honestly he isnt a pleasant person.

That says a lot right there. I've been inside too (not for violence) and I have some thoughts on the matter. Most people in there need to be in there, because they're morons.

Being a hard case and knocking people upside the head is not a good sign of being a decent, strong or moral person.

Yesterday when I was up at GPKnives, Justin pulled me aside to have me check out the new SURVIVE! Neck knife. He was asking how the hell to hold this thing. I honestly didn't rightly know. It's a small blade with a big hole and a rat tail. No handle, no scales, no instructions. So I looked at it, played with it and we figured out the best way to hold it. We also both decided "Not for me".

There's a huge market for that sort of thing. It's pretty easy to design something that looks really cool and fits that size requirement. However, it's remarkably difficult to design a small handy blade like that, that actually works. I have a couple protos on the bench (one mine, one from another designer) that show promise, but they require further testing.

Lemme tell ya brother, it's harder than it looks :)

Him not being a pleasant person sounds like its worked out well for him.

Judging from your posturing and your belief that you can go up against a prison hardened criminal who's own blood says he's "unpleasant", I say this in all kindness: you're still a dumbass.

What we finally decided was "pinch" the hole between the middle finger and thumb with the forefinger running along the spine of the blade. I think if it was a fuller instead of a hole, it would make a huge difference.

Except I'd be telling him through inch and a half bullet proof glass with guards stationed everywhere.

OK, got me there. You're smarter than I gave you credit for. That, and I'm more like Brave Sir Robin myself. Ain't no situation I can't run away from if I can't avoid it in the first place.

It's ok. I'm crazy and an idiot, but I'm not an idiot that is crazy! I'm more like sir Galahad than anyone...

Are you not supposed to put your pointer finger through the hole with the little nub tang resting on the inside of your middle finger and your thumb pressing on the spine? I would think that would be the way to go unless the hole is too small to put your pointer through.
