G-shark's snarks (and other associated ramblings)

Speaking of criminals and all that, when I was a teenager I worked for a Ma and Pa appliance store in western Oklahoma. My boss was a big part of the city and very involved so every once and awhile he would send us to help out with stuff going on in the city. One time me and a buddy who was about 5 foot 110 lbs to go help out the city manager load some stuff into a semi trailer. The manager was infamous for utilizing county prisoners for city work like this and low and behold when we walked in there were at least a dozen or more prisoners working with some officers watching them. Well we got started and out of no where the officers were just gone... the just walked out and disappeared off the face of the earth... Here I was about 16 years old with my friend ALONE with these guys and all the sudden they decided we were in charge. There we were conducting these prisoners all alone scared out of our minds but I have to say these "criminals" were some of the nicest people I have ever talked too. Everything was "yes sir" and they did whatever without hesitation. An hour or so later the officers showed back up, but man that was definitely an experience that I have never forgotten. lol

Let's lighten it up a bit, you're harshing my mellow.....:D

I have achieved Nirvana on this end.

It's a blend from a local shop called "Harvest Gold". Pretty good smoke indeed.

Sounds like a great way to spend a lazy afternoon. I was gonna get some firewood split today but it started raining this morning and it's 37º. So, just chillin'.

I must admit, regardless of all the things said about you in the (thread of which we shall not speak), you seem to have mellow down to a rare art form. Apple Jack in a jelly jar? Sublime.

I'll bet you a nickel those guards were watching from afar. Those boys generally don't "play". They tend to operate on the "give 'em enough rope" principle.

Convicts on work-release and especially those doing labor in the community are typically non-violent and/or near the end of their sentence, and trying like hell to get paroled. They're sick of prison life and want nothing more than to build up "points" and show that they can be a productive member of society.

It's a good deal for everyone, most of the time. Municipalities and small businesses get really cheap, highly-motivated labor, and foul-ups get a chance to work for their supper and feel like a human, not a caged animal. Speaking as a former foul-up, that is a HUGE motivating factor, and a powerful builder of self-esteem. I nearly went utterly bonkers sitting in the back-blocks of county jail for only two weeks... I was much more useful to myself and to society when I was paid $0.33/hr to build stuff.

There are horror stories about that kind of situation gone terribly wrong, but frankly they're very few and far between.

Ever gone camping in a Nat'l or State park and walked down a pretty trail or bought some nice clean pre-split firewood? Guess who blazed that trail and harvested/cut/split that firewood. :p

That makes the craftsmanship even more amazing...

You could ask Todd to make something that he HATES, and he will still do an amazing job. If he agrees to do it, its gonna be good, no mater what he thinks of the idea.

The Grunt is a great example of this.

There is cursing in this video, but, who wouldn't? The Washington, Il tornado:

You guys ever gonna let me forget about that turd?

Welcome back.
I was gonna make some crack about you getting back to work on those knife projects, but decided not to.

NICE!!!

My mom stole my 85%! So it's good that you're back home... I'm gonna need to get something... I'm thinking Bieradashi :D Now, chop chop!

HA!
You guys.

The ladies luurve my knives, apparently. Make sure your mom knows how to keep that O1 clean!
Gonna try to get back into the swing of things, but it will probably be fits and starts for a few weeks. I think there are a couple birudashi blanks in the in-progress box.

WW, thanks for the comment on my website. That one you were looking at is CBear's (not the one his mom claimed).

Kinda wishing we had some snow here so the wife and I could have just been lazy all day at home... The news channel was playing this weather up so much we had people swarming the wally worlds like its going to be the last time they are ever going to be able to get chips and cookies. Happens about anytime the weather man uses the words, "snow, ice, tornado, and etc etc"... also went out and started the old pickup yesterday and well it hard started, died, and then finally ran like crap... anytime it gets a little cold or wet I have some other weirdness to figure out.

Yeah. I was glad to see most of the people on the road weren't going much faster than me and I was the only one in a 2wd pickup with crappy tires. There were a few overconfident drivers but most were being cautious. Not like my old town in Oregon where everyone was pretty adamant about continuing to drive over the speed limit and not adjust for road conditions.

Dude, I totally feel you on that one. The guy that figures out how to capitalize on it is a genius! In the mean time just be you I've found having a chick as a wingman CAN totally pay off.

It can but I haven't been able to get it to much. I have to say though, having a woman tell you you'd make a great husband is a heck of a compliment.

Are you not supposed to put your pointer finger through the hole with the little nub tang resting on the inside of your middle finger and your thumb pressing on the spine? I would think that would be the way to go unless the hole is too small to put your pointer through.

That's how you're "supposed" to do it. Doesn't mean it works for everybody.

You guys ever gonna let me forget about that turd?

I'm going to get it tattooed on my chest with the word's "Todd Hunt Fanclub" and hang around outside your house without a shirt on. :D BTW, where are we at on the whole speedholes on The Grunt thing?

Dubz, that is just.....devastating. I can't believe how fast that was over... and those poor people are very, very lucky to have escaped with their lives. It's unimaginable to me that more people were not killed. Wow. I'm having a hard time posting this....words seem so useless...

I know how those people feel. That is terrifying, I've been in 3 bad tornadoes. When I was 2 our house was leved to the foundation by one while we was at my grandfathers funeral. Don't remember that one though, but the other 3 I was older. The last one my kids where just babies. My wife and kids all got into the bathtub in our most interior bathroom. You could feel the pressure change right before 90% of the windows in the house imploded covering the whole house in glass and cutting the sh!t out of everything including my feet. I was the only one with cuts though, cause I was in the hallway like a dunbass trying to see what was happenening, the wife and kids where fine. It leveled my neighbors garage and most of his house, and put a powerline in my backyard that wasn't there before. Its scary stuff. Tornadoes don't care.

It will be the first display in the TM Hunt museum of excellence™

Ha! You wouldn't need a very big building for that.
