GEC 2023 #87 English Jack

How does jigged wood feels in hand? It doesn't "bite" the hand like jigged micarta?
The jigged micarta doesn't "bite" my hand. However, all our hands are different aren't they. It has a smoother finish if that is what you're asking.

I am expecting a Sucker Rod wood tomorrow. Having grown up in Titusville (and missing it most days now that I live in the Philly area) the history of the pattern and of this handle material in particular drew me in.

I do have a "Standby" with CK for a Jigged Bone as well - I hope to get one but if not I'll be satisfied with this one.

The jigged cherry wood look awfully nice, as have the hummingbird. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product on the Northfield Acrylics - I have a feeling they're gonna be real lookers.

Every Northfield version is going to be super hot and amazing.

Just wait. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

Man, I'm really hoping mine will have this depth of character. I'd decided to sit this run out, but after seeing this pic, I had to get one on the way to me Wow.
I hope you get a nice one. I was a bit nervous based on the size of the knife…..it’s a big canvas to fill. But I’ve seen a lot of great examples on this run. Definitely some of the nicer acrylic GEC has used in a while.

If I've said it once, I've said it a dozen times.

GEC! Bring back Patriot Acrylic! This would have been a great pattern for that.

Also, more Kryptonite. I used to think they used it too much, then it went away forever. :(

This is like the “I quit smoking last week…. for the 6th time.”

I was also going to sit out on this because I have the 65 and didn’t really want another knife this big/similar. But now after seeing them…

Big ol’ hunk of Wood Wednesday goodness…

Unpopular opinion here but I went to put the coal oil in my pocket this morning and after opening and closing a few times I put it back in the drawer. The long nail nick on the main blade is is really buried behind the pen blade.
The last knife I got like this I ground out the top of the pen blade but this is no rough ryder barlow. Probably let it sit for a while and contemplate a blade delete.

Great looking knife, no argument there.

That stinks. Mine has just enough nail nick exposed that I can comfortably grab it but I could see it being an issue for others.
