GEC #340223 Camel Back Congress

Interesting: no bone or wood options. Is this the first time an entire run (of Tidioute) was acrylic only?
Actually no. It isn't very often and it hasn't been recently but there are a few instances of Tidioute with unique pattern numbers that were all acrylic (took a little messing around with a pivot table using my database). For example...

In my opinion, hummingbird is the premier acrylic choice. The unicorn on this run looks better due to shield choice. I will probably only be getting the BF version though.

I have to say this is a super nice release by GEC. I’m guessing the acrylic only offerings may have dampened the excitement for some on this release. The 34 is a bit longer than I was expecting, but thin due to the single spring and will be a nice carry. It does have half stops with the spring flush in all positions, bit of a rarity for a production knife. Nice pull opening and snaps shut. Overall I think people are going to be pleased with these.

Postie Mike just dropped this off and it’s a beauty! The fit and finish is excellent and the walk and talk sweet! Blades are flush in all three positions. Yes, the handles are more orange and black on mine. This one is a keeper. Have a unicorn incoming which I’ll be passing on at cost plus shipping. Shoot me a PM if you’re interested.

Hopefully. Who knows what might happen to acrylic after a hundred years, or two...
Acrylic (aka Lucite, Plexiglas, Perspex) items produced in the 1950s (or earlier) are relatively common and, in most cases, seem to have held up reasonably well over the past ~70 years. It's not biodegradable nor easily recycled but is considered UV-stable (however prolonged exposure to intense UV light would likely lead to degradation over time - possibly presenting as yellowing and embrittlement). Biggest concerns seem to be exposure to temperatures over 185⁰F (85⁰C) and exposure to certain solvents.
