GEC 35 Churchill Spoiled Me GAW

Great GAW! I've never had a canoe, but I think they look very smart. I'm in.

The #35 Churchill is also a surprise knife for me. I bought it because I liked the cover, but discovered that the pattern is a perfect user knife. I didn't really know how good at the time, having not held or used many traditional knives when I bought it. However, having bought and sold a bunch of GECs this year, the Churchill was never in doubt of being on the block. It just works.

I’m in and thanks for the opportunity. I think the knife that surprises me the most is one I’ve had all along. Until I joined this forum I was fairly content with switching between this and a Victorinox Tinker for daily carry. I acquired a bunch of others but more often than not I come back to it. I may not post a lot about it but it reall doesn’t need an introduction....

I would love to be in for this GAW. I have long wanted to check out a gum fuddy knife. Thank you for the opportunity.

A knife that surprised me was my Rough Rider Barlow. I bought it for the scrimshaw as a memento from a trip, but I was impressed by the quality of the knife as well.

Please include me.

This Rough Rider Improved Muskrat was a revelation to me, one of the first slipjoints for which I developed a real enthusiasm. I carried it a lot for a couple of years, less so now as newer toys elbowed it aside. The combination of a straight blade with a clip has a persistent appeal, as we continue to see.

The Gum Fuddy reminded me of another Rough Rider, the bark bone barlow.

I'm in.

I've never owned a Case Canoe and I like their Gum Fuddy covers. I wouldn't say that I was surprised by the Churchill. Having owned one of the Bladeforum #35 Drovers, I was pretty sure I would like the Churchill and I have not been disappointed. It's pretty safe to say that I'm spoiled by it too.

Awhile back I was tossing around the idea of having a knife re-handled but I couldn't really decide which knife I wanted to send off. Once I knew that the Churchill was a nearly perfect knife for me, it was a no brainer. I should have it back between Thanksgiving and Christmas so I've got something to look forward to until then.

Here'a a couple of old and new Gum Fuddy knives that I own. Thanks for the chance, Alan!

I'd like to please be included in your generous GAW, Alan, since I have a "thang" for canoes.

This Case chestnut jigged bone CV Sodbuster Jr. that I won in a BigBiscuit GAW surprised me by being a very useable and useful knife even though it had only one blade. Growing up, my experience with folding knives always involved multi-bladed knives, but the SBJr taught me that a single-bladed knife also has some appeal. My preference is still for pocket knives with more than one blade, but I now appreciate the value of a 1-blader.

Thanks for the generous GAW, Alan.:thumbsup::cool:
Best wishes to all the entrants! :D

I'm in, and thank you for your generosity. As I cannot post pics... all y'all will have to use your imagination. The knife I carry daily that continues to surprise me is the venerable and loved Case Yellow Peanut. Does almost all I ask a knife to do on a daily basis.

Can't get more traditional than a yeller nut.

I'm in! I've never had a canoe model, but have looked at them quite a bit. This Smoke Jumper is the only traditional I currently carry, so I would love to add another traditional to my EDC.
Thanks
