GEC 35 Churchill Spoiled Me GAW

Over in the thread about the GEC 35 I explained why my ebony 35 is making it hard for me to carry some of my knives. So, in that vein here's the GAW.

First the rules. Just be a poster in the Traditional area. If you'd like post a photo or an anecdote of a knife that's surprised you or anything you'd like to share.

The knife is a current edition of Case's Canoe in Rough Black also known as Gum Fuddy. It's unused and unsharpened although I may have carried it a time or two. I'll run this until Friday at 7PM EDT. Good Luck.

Nice. Knife count me in

As a new collector, most of what I own is Case or GEC. I am surprised at the craftsmanship it takes to make all of them. If you look at them very closely, it is amazing. Thanks.

I'm in and thanks! For some reason I haven't added any Case knives to my collection, but I have a soft spot for them.

The first knife my Dad ever gave me was a Case... I was 8-10 years old maybe. I remember running my thumb along the edge on our back deck, yes, the way you're not supposed to, with his words of warning echoing in my ears about being very careful, always cutting away from myself, etc. The edge was crisp and smooth. But then I felt it grab my thumb and slice it open! Funny how I can still remember how that felt even as a nearly old guy. Knowing knives a little better now, I'd like to see that bugger and find out if that was chip or burr or what.

Good story. Amazing how some things are burned into our memory but we can't remember what we had for lunch yesterday.

Alan, I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for giving someone a chance to own that fine Case Canoe. I fully understand your growing fondness for the #35 Churchill. It is truly a great knife. I have several versions with a cull Sambar example being my most carried version. Good luck to all that enter! Please this is not an entry just simply an acknowledgement of your generosity! :)

Man, I've been avoiding entering giveaways, but this one is calling me. I had a Queen Canoe in D2 with birdseye maple. It was a favorite, but it took a leap from my pocket somewhere, and I haven't been able to find it. It's been a couple years, and I'm giving up hope. Always liked the pattern though. Please, count me in, and thanks for the chance!

Thanks for the post Ron. We'll see about the "this isn't an entry posts."

Alan, I can’t resist any longer! Please count me in! Thanks for the chance in your generous giveaway. -Lance

I ran a random number generator and the number 9 poster is the winner. @abcdef congrat. I'll post my email on your profile page so you can send me your address.

Way to go abcdef! Thanks again Alan. :D Although I was looking forward to seeing what the boobie prize was....:(

Congratulations @abcdef! Thanks for the giveaway joeradza joeradza ! I'd rather be up the creek without a paddle than up the creek without a canoe, but as it is, I'll have to avoid the creek altogether. :D
