Thanks for posting this side by side comparison, Dylan. I thought it looked that way in some of the other photos I'd seen, but that definitely confirms it -- that is one thick blade down there near the tang!!
I wonder why they didn't use a spacer (is that the right term?) like they did on the Drover.I mean, it still looks like they thinned it out pretty well once you get down to the edge, but it's incredible how fat that tang is! Wow!
Sorry I missed this, Barrett. I'm with you, I am not sure why they didn't use a spacer for the Main either, seems like thicker stock would make for more work, especially if they are trying to ensure a workable cutting edge. That being said, I do think they did a very fine job with the grind. The cutting edge is nice and thin and I expect no issues from it. I will just chalk it up to being a nice and very sturdily built knife.
Here are some glimpses of the Yellow Rose and the first of the Northfield trim. I didn't order any with the Northfield trim, though I am curious how the stag versions will turn out.
