I'd have to agree with you. I am very happy with my Ebony 35, but Jigged Bone goes so well with that frame and one of the things that tend to compete with my fondness for woods, is red bone. It really is a terrific looking knife, that forum should be very happy with those blades. Everything from the long pulls to the centered shields is just superb.
 
These are the nicest of the #35s in my opinion, and I am hoping to get one, but...
1. I'm not sure how many there will be, and how fast they'll go

2. I am quite new on that site, and don't want to make off with one unless everyone more deserving gets one first.

I actually think I would prefer the off centered shield if it didn't have the letters in it. Not sure if I'll explain this well, but I feel the off centered shield gives the knife a vertical orientation, while the centered one gives it a horizontal orientation. Add the text in the off centered shield, and it throws everything off (like the Tidioute cougar claw shields). Hope this odd opinion of mine at least makes sense.

I like the color of the jigged bone though and I REALLY like the centered shield, had it not been a different forum knife, I would of surely picked one up.

I thought the same thing, Dylan. The different shield positions seem very strange, but I definitely prefer the centered shield. I wish you could choose between centered or off-set with the standard run knives. :D
 
Anybody have pictures of Cougar Claw yet? Mine's in Customs so I may not see it for another week.....

With those shields, I simply think somebody may have messed up:D but not in a bad way:thumbsup: Perhaps they got confused and thought the forward shields were Tidioutes?

The centre shield works well with that Gimp type of shield but the Rose, Hotdog or Tidies look better forward to the master bolster in my view. Nice to get options though!
 
I only just noticed that this knife doesn't use the catch bit! Fantastic. This was the main issue with the forum knife/HJ10. It leads to a 'mushiness' in the blade action. I will be more interested in getting one of these now
 
I think I'd still prefer the long, skinny Tidioute or hot dog shield centered on these knives, but the Rose shield certainly wouldn't work. :D

I have to say, while I don't necessarily dislike the hot dog shield, it does get a bit boring. Even just a nice bar shield like on the '16 forum would be a nice change of pace every now and then.
 
Looking forward to green banana bone, supposed to have one comn, hopefully they will materialize..i was relieved to hear they were an option cause i really dont want to carry a knife with a rose on it but i like yellow bone...
 
I got an email stating that the Green Banana will have a Banana shield. Should be interesting but I'm still sticking with Yellow Rose.

I could be wrong but I think the Green Banana are only offered to those who have a Yellow Rose on reserve and want to change it to Green Banana. I suspect any leftovers will go up for sale to the general public but I don't know anything for sure.

Hmm...I think I like these. Not more than the yellow rose, but they are pretty nice. None of their "Green Banana" covers have been green though.

Those banana shields will undoubtedly be used again with the next run of rotten banana bone handles.

I see there's photos of the New Green Acrylic #35s as well. Not too bad either, but I still think the yellow rose is the right one for me out of the standard releases.
 
I bet that green acrylic will look nice once it's all polished up. Will that one just have the UN-X-LD shield?
 
I like the banana but I don't think much of that acrylic.

Given the choices that must be available, it seens strange that GEC isn't able to select more attractive acrylic options.
