GEC #35 Churchill Thread

The clawed bone is unique, a welcome contrast to the usual jigging. Feels really nice too, the smooth shallow channels make it a nice worry stone. It think this one is going to age quite nicely as the lighter portion of the bone darken with time

I'm enjoying the Cougar Clawed bone, as well. IMO it's very reminiscent of stag while remaining thin (I've had some stag fatties from GEC) and you get to have the shield that should still be on the GEC stag.

That black and the yellow look great together. I may have to add an ebony to my yellow rose. I expect my shipment tomorrow ahead of schedule now. I hope so. All these great pictures are making me anxious.

has anyone seen the stag up for sale yet, I made the mistake of not reserving one?

That's exactly what I like about. It has a similar aesthetic as stag without being a direct imitation.

I like the hummingbird, and think it will make a great edc. Got a green banana coming too. This will be a very pocketable knife, IMO.
Have you been sent the link to pay for your green banana yet? Thanks in advance.

It arrived! I love it! Number three of many to come I'm sure.

This is a great size for my hand and my pocket. Here are some family photos for size comparison.

Got my yeller rose yesterday.

I'm not used to the sheeps foot secondary size and let the tip of the blade close with my strong hand index finger in the way. I don't remember the last time I let a traditional knife bite me but it's been a long time. Pretty dumb and totally my fault.

I absolutely love this pattern, size, and choice of blades. It's gonna get real pocket time.

Okay...., I can't stand it much longer! I think I'm going to have to get one of these. I'm eyeing up the Ebony. It looks like next weeks paycheck is gonna take a hit!

That's the spirit, Lance. :D Seriously though, I think you'll be glad you got one before they all dried up. I haven't even received my second one yet and I'm already contemplating a third.

I'm generally not as big of a GEC fan as some folks on this forum although I do like them. These Churchills caught my attention right away when I first saw them on early reserve. Then I got one in hand and that was all she wrote.

I hope my constant praise about the #35s don’t irritate y’all, but here I go again. I just got my 2nd - a Cougar Clawed bone. It is perfect. F & F, pull, everything. One irritant for me has always been the poorly inset rivets on GEC knife handles. This Cougar Clawed bone has perfectly set handle rivets, The Yellows rivets not so good.
Next week I should get my AAPK SFO. The Rust Red should be just as fine!

The 35 must be one if my favorite patterns. I have several favorite patterns though. Anxiously waiting on my 35 stag. I’m glad to hear you’re happy with the pins.

Wow all this shield talk.
An equal end shield on a equal end knife it doesn't get any better than that. :)
Its the perfect shield in the perfect position. Best of all there is no blade etch to get messed up over time.

Good looking 35 Dean!

I just got to pick my Churchill stag option at CK. I think I was one of the first, judging by how many that were there. I'm glad I got to choose, because some of the coloring I really did not like.

Edit:Whelp, never mind. There was an issue with their email and link and they postponed. Got my money refunded. Have to do the pick again later.

Edit 2: Got back in and was able to get the same one. A little frustrating, but I think CK did the right thing.

I can’t wait to see it! I like unusual stag, myself.

On the CK 35 lineup I was looking at the top side profile. I am not a big fan of fat stag and what I consider a "swayback" (if you've seen a swayback horse you know what I meen) stag is a no go. I like a nice even side and then the match of coloring to mark and pile sides is secondary. I am looking forward to the one I selected. It works for me.
