GEC #35 Churchill Thread

I really like the maroon micarta on my Beer Scout & since my birthday is Friday, I just gifted myself one of these Churchills in maroon micarta. It might even be here in time for the national celebration.

I think my fashion consultant (aka: wife) will be pleased to see that I'm finally getting the hang of color coordinating.
Happy belated birthday :)
Please post your beauty when it arrives !
I was so torn between that and the stag.

Yeah, I think you're going to need one of these. This one just might just replace my Barlows & stockmans as my favorite traditional. I chose the micarta, because I like my maroon micarta Beer Scout, but whichever covers you choose you can't go wrong.

Question and couldnt think of a better place to ask lol . I ordered a stag and its listed as Stag "AE" and the AE is actually on the tube cap in red marker .
Does anyone know what that stands for ?

I assume that's the 31st stag knife your supplier listed for sale, but that's just an assumption. A-Z then AA, AB, etc. Most of the stag knives are photo'd and sold individually.

Identifier. It was to correlate the knife you selected from what started out as a broad selection.

Depending on the retailer, they usually use some sort of designation (my stag was #1, for instance) to keep the different stag covers they have in stock, separate from one another. Your stag, I would assume, is stag AE. There was probably AA, AB, AC and so on...

ETA: Late to the party, I see, haha!

Well, you probably don't need to see another picture of an ebony Churchill. So, I'll just echo what so many of you have already said. I received mine today. It's simple, solid, and destined to become a favorite. Pocket friendly, with a great blade combo, and jet black scales. What's not to like?

Thanks everyone for the explanation of the AE on the Stag I just ordered.
I was picking my brain as far as thinking it was American Elk :p lol.

Yes we do! :)

What is everyone's thought on the green banana? Seems like they got snagged up pretty quickly... I personally like the bright bone covers of GEC and I was lucky enough to snag one but I'm curious what others think about it. I like the unique shield and the yellow variation on the bone. It's weird, I was kind of on the fence on the 35 until I saw the banana variant lol. Will this be one of the most collectible versions of the 35 in your opinion? How many green bananas were made? Hopefully some members will post pictures when they receive them... I'd love to see the differences in the covers.

View attachment 788914 Ok, this one is for TheFactor! I thought I'd try to switch things up a bit, at least. Lance

I like that! The stag options are really nice, (and I'll probably end up ordering one of those yet, because I like this pattern), but for me it came down to either the ebony or micarta. I just thought the smooth covers would be perfect for this one.

I like all the banana covers and I would imagine they'd be more collectable although possibly also to a smaller crowd preferring them just because there brighter. I use to have a yellow Mustang Cobra and wish I had a nickel for every time someone said Nice car why yellow ? My response was because it's mine and what I wanted. I think yellow is one of those colors you either love or not so much .
Again myself I like it on the right car and traditional pattern .

Looks like I might be able to get some pics up today of my Hummingbird Acrylic but I'm not holding my breath. The tracking shows "Out For Delivery". I wasn't expecting that on a Sunday but we'll see.
