GEC 47 Viper: Brand New, Won't Take An Edge

I lost track of which thread we were in. You had this thing razor sharp pages ago ;)
Haha it's built up some patina now as well. The Viper has become one of my daily carries now. Viper with my large Sebenza, SAK with my small Sebenza. Always have a slip joint to go with my modern folders.

I'll be back for another one soon, Mike!

Before this gets too off course and derailed, THANKS for taking the time to explain the way you came up with your numbers. Your explanation made great sense to me, especially since I am in the business of starting with a pile of materials and coordinating several labor intensive processes to create a finished end product with my own company. I got your point.

I think it is a tremendous asset to this group to not only have your products and services available, but especially to me, your expertise as a business man. You response is a great snapshot into the industry.

Thanks again for your wonderfully articulate post!

Robert

You are welcome.

Mike--Sharpening, they had a lady sitting at a rotating wheel. All she did was sharpen the knives.

Mike, I think you nailed it. GEC and Queen are great knife companies and they make great knives. They do really good work, but they each have their shortcomings. I, actually, am glad that their most noticed shortcoming is sharpening. Sharpening is not a big deal.

And before someone misconstrues what I am saying. I am not saying it is OK to deliver a dull knife. I do think among other things that can be issues with a knife, this is an easily corrected one. In fact, I often resharpen sharp knives because I want them to be right for me.
