GEC #47 Viper

I'm just sitting here chuckle'n to myself Al. I should have known you were going to get the whole pile of them. Great job !! They all look great , but you know I am partial to the Stag , or the Smooth Oiled Bone , or the ...............

Harry

I didn't even know I wanted a pile until y'all started showing all those pictures!! :D Thanks, Harry! :)

You have also done well AL! A very nice 6 pack of snakes! :D

Thanks, Ron! :)

I don't suppose anyone's seen preorders for a Viper in African Blackwood anywhere? I'd post in the WTB forum for one from an earlier run, but for some reason it seems as though there are no posts in there whatsoever - I think I must have missed an FAQ... Thanks!

Edit: Ah, I think maybe it's a gold membership thing. :) Looks like the last African Blackwood ones were from 2014. Oh well, I'm sure there's some out there somewhere!

The East Indian Rosewood arrived Tuesday and the Smooth Oiled Bone arrived today! I plan on carrying them both...

I received my Brown Snakeskin Acrylic Viper today. It's a great knife. But it is a hard knife to capture with a photo.

I will post an image when I get a nice one.

This. I received mine as well today and it's a beautiful knife, but hard to capture. When you hold it in the sunlight and turn it back and forth, the light catches the golf flecks and "snake scales" that are deep in the acrylic and the handles come to life. But laying flat on a surface under artificial light, the gold all but disappears. Very intriguing knife and I feel lucky to have received one.

Yes, this one does shimmer and camoflauge itself, just like a snake! I'll try to get better pictures this weekend, but here's some indoor ones for now. What an impressive material. This would be a stunner on a Northfield. Does GEC take suggestions from Bladeforums? I'd say yes. BTW, GEC, there's a color in the same material called Ivory Snake that is pretty sweet as well. Glad I snagged this one.

I think you got the best of the bunch , Steve. The "scales" on your scales are more pronounced than on mine. Great score.

Steve, very nice! That pile side pic looks just like a snake!
Just playing around with some phone pics, if you hit it with direct light, all of the "scales" glow like yours does. But the one you have exhibits a much more uniform pattern than mine.
Each one of these is different, which makes them personal and unique.

Thanks guys. It was luck of the draw that I got this one but I'm very happy with it. Depending on how the light hits it, the scales glow or kind of disappear. I bet more of them look similar to mine in the right lighting. Very neat looking stuff! I hope GEC uses it again sometime in the future. It was well worth the wait.

I am anxiously awaiting mine...and yes I hope they do as well. the few times I have seen it in various colors (blue, red, green, white and now the goldish tone of the viper) it has been very eye catching.

Oh, c'mon... let us see!

Yes draggat those two look amazing together!

For some reason it tickles me that GEC paired the handle slabs with the pattern name so well with these two. It is one knife I actually wouldn't have minded if they put sinuous snakey fonted "Viper" on the blade (I'm not a usually fan of blade branding)
