GEC #47 Viper

Tried my hand at an apple cider vinegar forced patina for the first time tonight on my green bottle glass jigged bone. I'm pretty happy with the results. I realized after I had it in the vinegar that I probably should've wiped the blade off thoroughly before I started, to make sure there wasn't any oil left on it, but I don't think it hurt it too much.

(Sorry for the poor indoor lighting; I don't know that I'll have a chance to take better pictures outside tomorrow, so I made due with what I had.)

AL - Thank you for the research on the Vipers. Very informative to see it in one place. My 2 Ship Deck Wood Vipers were made for the 2015 Rendezvous. The blades have the 470114 stamp. But my Vipers have 2 different tang stamps, front and rear and a different blade etch. I would love to see a picture of the Perry Richardson Ship Deck Wood Vipers to compare the differences. I really hope someone will post one. I also hope Great Eastern will post the 2015 Totals soon. I am curious to see if they list all the totals of the Rendezvous Specials that they had for sale.

Ron, I wished I had saved the pictures of the American Fighting Ships Commemorative version when it first came out.

This is the only pic I could find...

I believe the Damascus is by Devin Thomas.

AL - Thanks, I searched and searched, but no luck. I had even gone to Mr. Richardson's web site. Based on this photo, I now know that my 2 Rendezvous Vipers are unique. Thanks buddy! :)

Al , nice summery on the 2014 Vipers. Thanks

Ron, Your rendezvous viper are special. So is the rest of your pack. I did not know the Lone Star SFO were Damascus.

I missed a Maroon in SS on the exchange last night. It sold in one minute.

I am in the process of purchasing the #2 Prototype of the #470114 GEC Viper Texas Ship Damascus from Percy Richardson right now. It will be about 2 weeks before I receive it here in Okinawa. Will post a pic when I receive it Ron.

Any updates on the snakeskin composites. Last update I had was that they had not received the material from Europe. I have one reserved and hoping it doesn't fall through.

Got the horween coming now. Seems to be a perfect fit for me.

SSSsssssssssss! ;)
