GEC #47 Viper

I just hope that another run of the #55 gets done this year. I'm chomping at the bit for one (two... three...) of those. No liner lock please.

Just purchased a 47 Tidioute Viper in Rosewood. I've owned a 47 Northfield Viper but traded it here on the forum. I'm hoping the Tidioute Viper will be pinchable, the Northfield wasn't, plus it was too pretty to use as a working knife!
 
Oh man - seeing what my upcoming snakewood viper might look like has been the best thing to happen to me today

I got a green glass Tidioute. It's pinchable and very nice. I have a snakewood coming sometime this week. I can't wait. If the Northfield isn't quite pinchable yet I may have the blades swapped. This wood is very intriguing.
 
Man those snakewood vipers look amazing. I'm new to GEC but this one really catches my eye. Are there any BF dealers taking preorders?
 
Brett, thanks for the info. I saw a little cup in one if the production photos that said hounds tooth on the label. I got excited thinking maybe a run of 55 was coming so I emailed Chris at GEC. Lord story short it's just a spare cup that holds shields. I'm lucky enough to have a dealer close by so I grabbed a Tidioute green glass Friday. I also dropped my phone Friday and the internet at my house has been down this weekend so this is the first pic I could snap and load. I really like the dark almost green bone, yet in the right light it shows all the depth, like a piece of hard candy. They were all pretty dark and so were the East Indian Rosewoods. I chose this one for it's excellent ringing snap! I hope yours all arrive soon.
 
I wasn't planning on buying one of these but I really have be after a green jigged bone handle knife. I like 3.5 inch plus handle slip joints and I love warnecliffe blades. After redeeming my knive ship free points it brought the price down enough for my wife not to get upset about a no notice purchase. Thanks gec and derrick bohn. I cant wait to get my 47 viper with green bottle glass jigged bone covers.
 
NEED SNAKEWOOD VIPER!
Gotta start saving, just emptied my Paypal account not too long ago. Time to rebuild.
That green bone is also very nice. I like colorful jigged bone. Red, Blue, Green, Orange, all awesome.
 
Viper carriers..... How do you guys prefer to carry your 47? Loose in pocket? Anyone attach the optional bail for a lanyard? I see that some just utilize the lanyard tube by itself. Maybe a pocket slip?

I though my Viper needed a little extra detail, so I grabbed a chainsaw file and went at it :eek:. Fluted bolsters! Cleaned it up with some sandpaper and left everything a 600 grit satin finish. Really happy with the result.
